Driving my disabled Father back from Hospital the other week, he really fancied a cooked breakfast from one of his favourite Café haunts. We were able to phone ahead from Chichester and collect a delicious Corn Store, Full Breakfast, and head on home. Packaged wonderfully, brought out of the kitchen as I walked in, could not have been easier. This is almost definitely going to become a regular thing!

The George & Dragon in Houghton is a busy and beautiful old coaching inn situated in the South Downs National Park. We are a family run pub that is passionate about good food, service and above all ensuring the customer has the best experience possible.
The George and Dragon is a lovely pub/restaurant set in the Sussex downs. We visited on a beautiful day, and took advantage of the opportunity to sit outside. With excellent views it truly is a relaxing place to visit. The food is first class and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Everything seems to be freshly cooked and using local produce. We have probably visited four or five times during the summer period, but I hadnât reviewed on Trip Advisor.Highly recommended

The Black Horse is located in Amberley, West Sussex in the South Down's National Park. This grade two listed pub recently opened after extensive refurbishment offering a traditional bar offering local ales, an elegant yet cosy restaurant and the new addit
Uh ho....the curse of the Tripadvisor! Ignore the sorry two stars! Just back from a delicious Sunday roast and cannot fault it. Generous portions, loads of varied veg and.... the friendly French waiter! What's not to like! We all had a great time. So thank you the The Black Horse....this is our third visit and well done!

Beautiful setting, staff and locals very friendly.Wasps were annoying outside and no signs of management having addressed the problem-traps, deterrent fake nests etc.Menus arrived-all need replacing. Fraying plastic covers etc.Menu contents-great if itâs winter! SpecialsIncluded soup, steak and kidney pie and crumble! It was BH Friday in August and 26 degrees!Chef, take not of what season it is when preparing menus!

Traditional country pub with food.
As a pre holiday treat, decided to take Mum for dinner with my partner on Friday night. Fancied âpub grubâ and wanted to try somewhere new, so ventured out to Amberley. The Bridge Inn has a nice garden and terrace where we could soak up the unseasonally warm September sun. The heat soon started to fade so we headed inside around 7. The dining area was busy, but this did not compromise the excellent service throughout our meal.We chose from the regular menu and specials board. Given Mum has a smaller appetite, we shared 2 starters between 3. We selected the baked camembert and cheesy mushrooms. Both were delicious. I loved the fig chutney with the camembert. For mains, Mum and I opted for the pork special served in a cider sauce with dauphinois potatoes and broccoli whilst my partner opted for the beef burger. The pork was well cooked and tasty. The burger was filling, but heâs had better before. We were so full that I managed one scoop of the stem ginger and honeycomb ice cream. Delicious! With 5 drinks, the bill was a reasonable £82. I thought that represented good value. So a new find that weâll definitely return to. Iâd recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.

The Sportsman Inn is a public house offering a selection of local and Cornish real ales and delicious pub food. We have 5 en-suite B&B rooms with spectacular views over the Amberley Brooks.
I stayed at the Sportsman Inn when walking the South Downs Way. It's a bit of a walk off the trail, on the edge of Amberley, but not too far. My room was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent: both dinner and breakfast the following morning. If the weather is nice, be sure to have a drink out on the deck overlooking the Amberley water meadows. The pub provides binoculars for better viewing. I felt that the hosts were very welcoming of walkers, and I wasn't the only walker staying there.Thank you very much for your kind review, we are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us and the food. We are very accomodating to walkers and we have many of them passing through due to our location and views.

Friendly casual fine dinning food. Locally sourced produce in a lovely Sussex Village. For booking information and table reservations including opening times go to our website.
Itâs not very often our visit to Sussex goes without a visit to Sylvan Oak and this occasion was no exception. Itâs like coming home when you walk through the door. Everyone is extremely welcoming and the service is fantastic. Our food was amazing - absolutely stunning presentation and flavours to die for. First class all the way. Thank you to Sinan and the incredible team he has around him for making our visit so special.

The White Lion is a privately owned, original old coaching Inn. We are a rural hideaway set in the beautiful and picturesque village of Thakeham in West Sussex. We serve great locally sourced seasonal food, fantastic wines and usually have four real ales
Set in the heart of the old part of Thakeham this pub oozes charm and character , We hadn't booked and thankfully arrived early on a Thursday lunchtime and got a table looking out to the patio area. We both enjoyed a superb steak and kidney pudding which left us too full for desserts . Those and a pint of Guinness and a half of lager shandy cost a very reasonable £34 . Looking forward to trying it again soon

We cannot say enough great things about Joannaâs. We had our wedding reception there and the food, service, venue were OUTSTANDING. Jo, Luca and their wonderful team could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. If youâre thinking of using this venue for any function you WILL NOT be disappointed. Wonderful...just wonderful â¥ï¸

We are a small, friendly Fullers Pub, located in East Preston village a stone throw from the beach. Following a refurbishment our Kitchen is now open, we serve food daily. We have a full selection of wines, ales, largers, with guest craft beers and ales.
Have been here twice now in two weeks, a lovely walk along the seafront from Rustington to come here.1st visit, amazing food, great service and couldnât wait to come back. 2nd visit today, was also amazing service and a lovely choice of specials and food menu. My only gripe is, I ordered the fish sandwich because my son two weeks ago had this and it looked and tasted amazing, served on toasted ciabatta bread, however mine today was served on plain wholemeal sandwich bread and was a little greasy. However, husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their burgers. It will not put me of coming back though, really lovely owners, great staff, fab renovation, huge portions, and pricing is fair!! It is so nice to know we have a new family friendly local within a 20 minute walk along the seafront.See you soon.
