Called in for lunch today, a lovely welcome great coffee & stunning location but unfortunately thatâs where the good points end.Seafood chowder looked like baby food, a bowl of slop! Iâve never seen anything like it!seafood platter was tasteless! Smoked mackerel was definitely out of a packet from Aldi! £12.50 is a joke! Not sure what they had done with the tomatoes but they were very odd!I couldnât wait to get out of there and definitely will not go back!Dear houseuphighThank you for spending the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear you werenât impressed with your meal choices. Re the seafood platter I can assure you our smoked mackerel is not from aldi. Didnât realise we have tomatoes on it but this must be in our roasted vegetables I can only presume. In regards to the chowder Iâm sorry you have this opinion of it as itâs one of our best selling dishes and weâve never had feedback of it looking like baby food before! Itâs a shame you didnât feel you could have mentioned this to a member of the team who would have been able to change your dishes for you.Regards

Visited Porthmadog after visiting Carnavon Castle. Beautiful village with small train operating from Carnavon and beyond worth the trip . Was there during bank holiday long weekend. Not as crowded . All of northern wales is beautiful. The Ship was very good . Worth a visit but all the shops in town are very quaint and people very friendly.

Having looked in Porthmadog for food and not finding anything suitable or open we stumbled across the Union Inn, and what a treat. Service was quick and friendly and the food was fantastic with a very generous portion. We will be back before we leave for home.

I very rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant, always finding something which could be improved but not at The Moorings. This restaurant fully deserves 5 stars. We have visited this gem three or four times this summer and each time we have enjoyed excellent food, excellent friendly and efficient service and to top it off the restaurant is in an excellent location. I can thoroughly recommend it.

This little coffee shop on Portmadog High Street was a really welcome find: super coffee, beautiful freshly baked scones (still warm!), interesting decor and a personable but not pushy staff team. We really recommend this lovely cafe

Super restaurant serving excellent food. Located in the old bakery (Hen Fecws). Loved the short menu meaning everything is fresh. Staff are really friendly and fun. Try the Hake with capers on specials board or sea bass and the pear and cherry crumble was exceptional.Dear David B,It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your time with us at Yr Hen Fecws and that you thoroughly enjoyed your meals, from mains to dessert! Dined here last Wednesday evening. We loved the lounge sitting area where we were able to sit before a blazing log burner and enjoy a drink whilst perusing an extensive menu. Choices made, our very polite and helpful waiter made note of them and shortly afterwards showed us to our seats. The food was beautifully presented, hot and absolutely delicious. A lovely restaurant, clean, great ambiance, super efficient and friendly staff. Would most certainly recommend.

On a golfing trip x4 with an overnight stay in Porthmadog, we werenât sure about where or what to eat. A trip down the high street and the only place that stood out as appealing by miles was a converted Bank, which had only recently 4 months ago turned into a Tapas. Believe me, this will be an attraction for miles when word gets round. Iâve had many Tapas meals in convivial Spanish and Portuguese restaurants abroad .....nothing compares to the quality and variation of plates delivered to us. We spoke with the manager and asked him to keep the dishes coming of his choice....Wow how impressed were we.If ever in Porthmadog you need to experience Y Banc Tapas.....will be No 1 on T/A within no time at all.Exceptional!!!
