Booked a table for dinner on a Friday evening in this old coaching inn. Started in the large bar where there was a good selection of ales on tap. Dining room was starting to fill up. Staff were very good looking after the customers and there was a convivial atmosphere. There are several menus/options so definitely something for all tastes. We ordered a risotto, a tagliatelle and a salmon teriyaki. All were freshly prepared, tasty and hot. We just about had room for a couple of chocolate sundaes for dessert which were to die for. Very pleasant evening at a reasonable price.

Tried their Afternoon Tea. Plenty to eat, and good quality. It was a shame that I could only select two types of sandwich filling, although I suppose the bonus was that you could actually select the fillings.Service was very good. The price, however, was far too much for what you get - but this seems to be the case in most places now.

My husband & I visited this morning Sunday 22/9/19 - we always consider it a treat. NO NO NO! We always enjoy sitting at a table preferably near a window, we always order the same things - a strong cuppa & toast for hubby & a hot chocolate plus toasted tea loaf for me. Today we were informed that we had to find a table, look at the menu, go to the serving desk to order & pay WHAT?!? Our love of the tearoom includes politely being led to a table, our order being taken by one of your lovely staff then after enjoying the lovely food/drinks going to the pay desk where one of your staff always politely asks if everything was ok. Today the lady & gentleman serving were lovely as always but our visit didnât feel the same, the experience was lacking something. Where the pay desk used to be now has an extra bench & table, there was a set of red curtains at the end wall pinned together obviously hiding something - it looked amateurish & unprofessional. Youâre nor a coffee shop, youâre a traditional tea room. If we had wanted a coffee shop/ cafe there was plenty of choice outside. Why make these changes? Itâll be self service next! Cosy up your tea room again - get rid of plain boring beige walls, boring beige table covers etc. YOU HAVE LOST YOUR SPARKLE!Please bear with us we're the same people ,with the same service and good quality food , we're just having a little change to see if we can improve our service even more.

Finally visited after living near here for years and was well happy. We all shared a starter (3 of us) then had 3 different main courses which came out hot and looked good. Friendly staff and nice clean pub.

Traditional Country Pub Restaurant.
I recently visited with a friend after recommendations from a couple of people. The pub is deceptively big and on entering i didn't realise the size of the restaurant at the back. The restaurant is a nice space, tables set at good distances so you dont feel on top of each other and the lighting was good for the atmosphere.I've got a sweet tooth so chose to have a main and pudding even though i had been told the chicken goujons were a must! For my main i had the Steak and Guinness pie and was not disappointed! It was full of meat, the pastry was nice and there was plenty of veg and mash on the side. My friend had a steak and enjoyed it. For my pudding i chose the chocolate orange cheesecake which i didn't overly enjoy. The flavour was there but I found the base to thick and the cheesecake a funny texture. My friend chose the sticky toffee pudding which she said was a bit dense. When i/we return i/we think i/we will try the recommended starters over a dessert!

We kept getting told how good The Crosby is so thought it about time we went to find out.The village itâs in is small but pretty. The Inn is on the Main Street. The staff were very welcoming and we sat at a table at the front of the pub.A very good lunch menu and thereâs a different one for the evening sitting. Lovely tempting specials on the board to which we both chose lightly battered salmon fishcakes with chips and salad. Oh my, they were delicious Lunch for 2 with drinks came to coppers over £30. Not at all expensive and freshly cooked. We will return and try dinner next time.
