First visit after recommendation. Really nice choices on the menu, some unusual choices. The smashed avocado and haloumi was lush! So were all the others and sides. Cocktails were really well made tooNice atmosphere and friendly staff Definitely recommend

Small, friendly, community local pub serving good quality drinks and delicious home cooked food Tuesday to Saturday at lunchtimes and early evening and Sunday lunch.
Went to the Waggon and Horses with family for lunch after reading many excellent reviews about it. However our greeting upon entering wasn't overly friendly and we immediately felt somewhat uncomfortable. All of us ordered lasagne and chips; the lasagne was extremely greasy and the chips were significantly undercooked. Overall it wasn't a good experience and personally we won't be going back.

In 2017 we refurbished our out of town venue including a new front extension. We are a rustic styled restaurant & bar offering a great range of craft beers, speciality gins and a fantastic range of quality food. We are open 6 days a week (mondays closed)
Having been to this bar/cafe many times following a very sad day whilst we laid our very dear relative to rest at the age of 47, we decided after the wake for a small part of the family to go for tea. We had been in Wolstanton for the funeral so I suggested the Shed as my workplace often use this place for social meets and meals for birthdays etc. What a mistake that was. The day had been very emotional and we were all just needing food and to chill out together. We arrived into the bar around 5 pm and ordered drinks to which the chef who claimed he was the manager asked us if we had been smoking weed???? Randomly especially as we are all in our 40s and my 70 year old parents were with us.As you can imagine this was embarrassing in front of customers already using the bar. Different members of the family approached him for his reason why he thought various people dressed in black in suits and carrying funeral order of service looked like a bunch of people whoâd been smoking weed..We had ordered drinks by this stage which we quickly finished and left we ate elsewhere, where we were very welcome and we will never return here.Absolutely shocking behaviour and service and we all have made sure to give all our friends the review which meets the emotional upset on the day that this person inflicted on us as a family. My father was very upset and runs a pub himself and would never speak to customers in this way.

There was no patè on the a la cartè menu, but when i requested a patè starter it was happily provided and i thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband ordered black pudding & poached egg which he also enjoyed. I had duck for main course, which was cooked perfectly, but the root veg pureè & potato accompaniment was quite bland. My husbands beef medallions were very well done. The Lemon posset was served in a soup^dessert bowl - it was hige & delicious, creme brulee also nice. £71 in total. Area's of the restaurant nice, but some areas in need of a bit of TLC & updating. The chairs & tables are very old fashioned and very regimental in their layout. It could be made much more informal & cosy. Dear Diane,We are delighted that your meal in our Ostler Restaurant met with your expectations. Our Chefs take great pride in the dishes that they produce and are always open to contructive criticism, so we will pass your comments on to them. We thank you also for your positive feedback and take on board your comments with regards to parts of our restaurant. It has undergone a minor 'facelift' recently but is due to have a full refurbishment later in the year, which includes the repacement of all fixtures and fittings. We thank you for choosing our Ostler Restauant for your meal and look forward to welcoming you back to the Borough Arms in the future.

I visited this establishment last week on their student night based on a Thursday and describing it as remarkable is an understatement. The staff behind the bar were polite, being very attentive to my rather prolonged orders. Furthermore the DJ,I believe was called Justin, had extraordinary skills that seem to be to be such a rare asset at the moment. His glamorous assistant Dean was also a pleasure to speak to, a rather cheeky chap if I may say so myself. All in all an extraordinary student night, one wouldnât expect such a vibe in a smaller town. Must have been 400 people in all night!! A must to visit if your in the vicinity!

Situated just outside Newcastle Under Lyme Town Centre in a converted Terrace property, Marloes is a Fully Licensed Small Family Run Restaurant. Specialising in Freshly cooked and prepared English Cuisine using the freshest of ingredients locally sourced
I have reviewed them before but worth doing again to confirm they still manage to retain their ability to deliver good quality food from this excellent couple who somehow continues to maintain their standards whilst others fail. Itâs not a new stylish venue like some new arrivals over the last few years which promise much via web sites and advertising but never consistently deliver and are usually overpriced for quality and quantity of food. Hence bookings for weekends tend to be required well in advance so worth trying in the week unless you major on designer food rather than quality.Hi Duaneengland, âThank Youâ so much for your most recent Trip Advisor review. We have noticed that you have reviewed us before and your previous comments have always been great , so we are really pleased that you continue to enjoy dining with us, and Thank You again for your Loyal Custom and Support.Best WishesPaul and Claire x

If you are looking for a bygone time with classic surroundings and great food with pleasant staff then this is the place to go.We thoroughly enjoyed our luxury afternoon tea. Everything was spot on and the food was of high quality and nicely presented. There was also plenty of it to enjoy or if you could not eat it all they provided boxes to take it away. The atmosphere was peaceful with a hint of an age now gone but fondly remembered. The staff knew how to treat their quests and made you feel comfortable and at home.We would certainly go back again and can recommend it if you like to be taken into a different decade in history.
