Saturday morning experience at this delightful old English style tea room at the wharf along the canal.Friendly welcome, an array of tempting cakes but an enjoyable breakfast was taken with excellent coffee.Colourful interior, pleasant, quiet atmosphere, perfect indeed to enjoy this experience.Value for money, tea room set on two floors and toilets upstairs.

4 of us had lunch here yesterday and I am not normally a reviewer, but feel I have to on this occasion! Everything was simply fabulous from the service, wine and the superb food. The chef certainly delivers on both flavour and presentation and we loved everything on our plates. We have now booked to go again next month. Thanks to a great team.

Looking for a venue where my family and small group of close friends could celebrate my wifeâs surprise birthday party was a challenge. It had to be somewhere special. Then I remembered the Dew Pond restaurant and delightful evenings weâve spent there in the past. Keith, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating in assisting me with the arrangements for my party of 15. Having agreed the date, we discussed the menu and I was recommended suitable wines for the dinner. Upon arrival, our guests were offered drinks (fabulous selection of gin) in the garden overlooking fields with sheep and glorious views, where they gathered for my wifeâs arrival. The surprise was a complete success thanks to the staff at the Dew Pond. Once the greetings had been completed the dinner was served which included a chef appetizer of pea puree followed by oak smoked salmon that immediately received praise from all and set the scene for a sumptuous main course of saddle of Hampshire lamb. The recommended wines complimented the meal superbly and by the time the coffee and chocolates arrived everyone mentioned how keen they were to return after a most enjoyable meal in glorious surroundings looked after by an attentive staff. Thank you Dew Pond, my wife and I look forward to our next visit.

A free house, serving locally sourced quality pub food, ales and wines.
A family get-together for my wifeâs 70th Birthday comprising 5 Adults, 2 Children and a 9month old granddaughter. The staff were delightfully helpful, allocating us a table in a quiet part of the dining room, help mounting some birthday decorations and providing a high chair. Our meals were well-priced, beautifully cooked and presented. The meat dishes were superb using beef, lamb and pork from the best butcher in Newbury - Griffins. And try the most tasty Scotch Eggs Iâve ever tasted. The pub is clean and tidy and situated in easily accessible near Newbury. Compliments to the locals in the pub who were friendly, hospitable and even joined in our singing of Happy Birthday! Highly recommended

Henry and Joes is a cosy, modern British restaurant. Serving refined food, with service and ambience you should expect.
We had a Lovely Meal at H&Jâs and I can understand the positive reviews as the restaurant offers a nice cosy atmosphere, with a bit of class. The Food is very nice, the Service excellent and the Ambience is fun. My only complaint was that my fish was a touch overcooked which was a shame, but the rest of the menu was very good. Joe is a brilliant host and really makes dining there a pleasure. Thanks H&J
