Unless you're a favoured regular who happens to be known by those serving, you'll wait a fair while before anyone gives you any attention. When we first moved here I remember asking (on a visit without a dog) whether it was dog friendly and I remember well the tone in which that woman spoke to me. I bothered to try again recently with a friend, and that same couldn't care less for your custom attitude. Won't ever come back but doubt that they give two hoots... which is probably why it's almost always empty now when I'm passing, because there are many better places in Melksham now.

The Greyhound is a lovely village pub which appears to have been quite recently refurbished to create a nice atmosphere and setting. We all had the Sunday lunch which was really good. All of it was really well cooked and very large portions. All the veg was hot and freshly cooked which makes a nice change compared to some places. The highlight for me was the Yorkshire puddings which were excellent. Extra gravy was also provided which is always a bonus. The pub has a good range of nice ales on to compliment the food. Another redeeming factor for choosing this pub was the service, all the members of staff were really friendly and did whatever they could to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. I'm looking forward to returning.

We are in a central position in the small village of Seend Cleeve, Wiltshire, not far from the Barge Inn. Seend Cleeve is served by the Kennett & Avon Canal which is a short walk from The Brewery Inn and is popular with the local community, boating enthus
Only one thing saved this from a zero and that was the barmaid. If you book lunch for 12.30 you do not expect to wait until 13.15 for any food. You do not expect to have to listen to a domestic between the landlord and his staff The food was awful and I do not expect to wait so long for the bill when we only want to leave and there were only 4 other customers in the bar. We have been lucky enough to eat all over the worlds. This apart from Rachel was the pits!

A multi-award winning Licensed Cafe with Village larder and Post Office in Whitley, Wiltshire serving as a Community Hub with all welcome.
We called here for ice creams after a countywide walk. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There's a little farm shop attached to the cafe that has local produce available, including the ice creams mentioned above. Nice place that is be happy to return to or to recommend to others.

Table already booked by my sister as they regularly visit the Water meadow for meals. Service on arrival was amazing. All staff were friendly and nothing was to much to get us seated comfortably. Kay-Kay was our waitress for the evening. Drinks order taken and enough time given to peruse the menu. On our way in I saw someone eating the rib meal which looked delicious. Therefore ordered this with G&T. Not too long too wait for meals to arrive. We were all delighted with our choice. The ribs were amazing and I would recommend and would get again. Shared desserts with my daughter so we could try different things on offer. Excellent evening all roundWow! Thank you so much for this review! It means the absolute world to us when guests like yourself go out of your way to write this! Kay-kay is absolutely fantastic to our team and we love having her on board. We hope to see you soon! Thank you again.KayleighAssistant manager

We always go here on a Saturday morning for breakfast after the Melksham Park Run. We pre book a table as it gets busy. We normally go for the small breakfast and you can choose which items you'd like. The breakfast are always cooked to perfection. you can take your dog too which I sometimes do. I would highly recommend.

After being closed for over a year The Pear Tree Inn has been carefully restored as a farmhouse kitchen with bar & rooms. It has a relaxed & rustic appeal to the locally sourced menu & reclaimed quirky decor. An old stone build farmhouse with rug strewn f
We enjoyed two nights stay at the Pear Tree, on arrival you feel yourself relax, get out your book and enjoy a G and T. Friendly staff who were always helpful and professional. The menu is great and gluten free (which I need) choices are extensive, with the kitchen happy to adapt to suit. Rooms are tastefully decorated and we really enjoyed having patio doors to a small private garden space next to the wooded area. Squirrels and bird life in abundance. But the room was smaller than expected, especially the bathroom where you have to think to shut the door to access the loo.
