Never been to The Westbrook before, but on a friend's recommendation we decided we would give it a go for our eldest daughter's 21st birthday lunch. We had a varied selection of food off the menu including, veggie, burger, roast, fish of the day. None of these meals disappointed in any way. All meals arrived within 15 minutes, no complaints there. Next onto dessert. The Toffee Apple crumble is a masterpiece, and the Black Forest dessert is huge. Living in Chippenham for almost 20 years I thought I had tried them all. But The Westbrook has it all. Attentive staff who were all well mannered and knew what they were serving. Superb food, with excellent portion sizes. We shall be back that is a promise

Finding no where to eat after 2.00pm Mother and Wild said they would be serving food at 5.O0. The young lady at reception was so very helpful and the restaurant looked interesting we decided to have a very late/ early lunch/dinner. So glad we did. All the staff were very pleasant, the restaurant had several eating areas, mainly filled with younger people. I rarely eat pizza but this time it was impossible not to it, it looked so inviting. A ham hock starter for my husband and a pork and fennel ragu for me were excellent. The pizza was for my husband but I just had to share, the best I have had ever, outside Florence! Thank you

The Greyhound is a lovely village pub which appears to have been quite recently refurbished to create a nice atmosphere and setting. We all had the Sunday lunch which was really good. All of it was really well cooked and very large portions. All the veg was hot and freshly cooked which makes a nice change compared to some places. The highlight for me was the Yorkshire puddings which were excellent. Extra gravy was also provided which is always a bonus. The pub has a good range of nice ales on to compliment the food. Another redeeming factor for choosing this pub was the service, all the members of staff were really friendly and did whatever they could to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. I'm looking forward to returning.

Visited Chippenham today amongst other places and stumbled upon this café. The café is very quaint with lots of Irish memorabilia and slogans plastered over the walls, which we liked as we spent some time reading them. The lady who served us (I'm assuming the owner) was lovely, we placed our order and asked if there was a toilet on the premises, she told us that because it was a listed building, there wasn't, however there was a public toilet just round the back but we would need 20p to gain access. She then offered us the 20p, which we didn't accept as we had some 20p's. I thought this was a nice touch. I also had a nice chat with the owner about Ireland (I was there with the Army back in 1995) and she is very friendly. I ordered the Irish breakfast, which comes with Black and White pudding, bacon, sausage, beans, soda bread and I also added on a pancake type thingy, which for the life of me I can't remember but it began with a B. The breakfast was delicious. Overall, can't fault the place, good value, friendly, clean and fun. Will be going again when we are in the area.

After being closed for over a year The Pear Tree Inn has been carefully restored as a farmhouse kitchen with bar & rooms. It has a relaxed & rustic appeal to the locally sourced menu & reclaimed quirky decor. An old stone build farmhouse with rug strewn f
We enjoyed two nights stay at the Pear Tree, on arrival you feel yourself relax, get out your book and enjoy a G and T. Friendly staff who were always helpful and professional. The menu is great and gluten free (which I need) choices are extensive, with the kitchen happy to adapt to suit. Rooms are tastefully decorated and we really enjoyed having patio doors to a small private garden space next to the wooded area. Squirrels and bird life in abundance. But the room was smaller than expected, especially the bathroom where you have to think to shut the door to access the loo.

My husband and I visited here @11am- This is our unfortunate experience. : Walked In to a very quiet pub- only a handful of customers there. As we walked in there was a group of 3 people huddled talking - on the customer side of bar. - All looked at us - NO ONE ACKNOWLEDGED US!!!We stood at the bar for 4-5 minutes feeling increasingly awkward and wondering where all of the staff were. We noticed slightly to the left of the bar a staff member busy making coffee- Again NO Acknowledgement!!! Suddenly 2 ânewâ customers arrived to which point one of the 3 that were huddled talking suddenly saidâ Right I had better go and serve!â - I-was shocked to see that one of them was a staff member but then even more shocked when She continued to ignore us and served the 2 new customers!!!My husband and I were very taken aback - Without making a scene we left but on the way out I made sure that this staff member made eye contact with me so I could say â How very RUDE was that!!!.â We then went and spent our hard earned money in a lovely pub down the road where the staff were very friendly and very welcoming. I hope the staff member sees this and maybe thinks about customer experience, politeness and friendliness. - I too work in the customer industry and would be appalled to hear of any staff treating potential customers like this.Dear Guest,Many apologies for your recent poor experience, we value all feedback and will learn from your review,Regards

Our menus are created from fresh, seasonal ingredients in order to serve great tasting dishes from honest foods. We source our produce from local suppliers here in the West Country to ensure that the food process is traceable, and from sustainable farmers
We visited for morning coffees and cake on a pleasant sunny August saturday morning, sat in the garden at the rear of the property. My wife had croissant which came with butter and jam and some fruit and I had the carrot cake which also had some small fruit served with it. The coffee (americano/double espresso respectively) was good and although the cost was not cheap at £12, it was very nice and set in a pleasant location.

The Bell is a friendly, family run pub on the outskirts of the beautiful National Trust village of Lacock.
Good grub served by staff, worth a visit if you are in the area. Barman in particular provided excellent customer service.

The place is undoubtedly beautiful, especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Was lucky enough to find a table in the early afternoon. I had the classic cream tea, with English breakfast. The scones and clotted cream were delicious, tea was too. Service thought sucks. Not all of them, the young girls and the guy were really nice but I unfortunately had the grumpy woman. She wasnât very nice at all. I asked for sugar - as tea came without it - and she never brought it over. So had to endure tea without sugar. Now I can live without lemon, but without sugar, NO.Definitely need to hire better waitresses.
