Casual family Restaurant, Sunday Carvery and Events Catering, Situated in Mourne Park Estate Kilkeel, with Beautiful views over Kilkeel Golf Course.
For my birthday, my lovely bride took me out to a new restaurant in the Kilkeel Golf Club...Hunters Moon. The Chef has a great reputation from a previous venue in Newcastle and delighted us with his prowess in the Kitchen. Although the menu is compact, it hits all the points that you could want. We started with the Salt and Chili squid and Duck Liver parfait, both were absolutely Spot On. We had a lovely Rioja with dinner that was reasonably priced and had a lovely luscious berry overtone. Our Mains were their 10 oz. dry aged steaks, cooked expertly to a very Med. Rare and accompanied with a Kale and swede side. Some of the best beef that we have had in Ireland. The meal was completed with a couple of panna cotta's that left no room to breathe, let alone...swallow another bite. This Meal should have been scored 5 stars, just because of the quality of the food and the lovely & attentive service that we received from the two lovely young ladies that waited on us. The only point that needs improvement is the ambiance of the dining room. It is tired and in need of a little tender loving care. This by no means is the fault of the Chef or restaurant staff and should not prevent you from giving it a try. We know that we will frequent this restaurant...as it is both Fabulous and Affordable.

This is a pub with a restaurant on the harbour in the village of Annalong, Co Down
Three of us called in this harbour side Restaurant for lunch. i was immediately impressed by the pleasant atmosphere, enhanced by appropriate sea-side pictures on its wall and by a panoramic view across sea=tossed boats in the harbour outside. A pleasant young waitress quickly took our order from an impressively wide rangeof menu choices. While we waited for our food to be prepared, the formerly empty Inn was almost filled to capacity by a couple of groups. Despite this, our food appeared shortly afterwards. Two of us had ordered prawns : we both declared them excellent - if a tad over-cooked. The third had ordered hake : he, too, was well pleased. Not previously having been to this establishment, and having to find down a narrow street off Annalong's main street, I was unsure what to expect. In the event, I was well impressed and would certainly consider a return visit.

It doesn't get more real than this. We only needed a coffee but what a pleasant experience. With two fires burning away it was very welcoming and must be great in the middle of winter too!

After hearing all good reviews about the restaurant we as a family decided to give it a go. After waiting 35 minutes outside for a table while other people who were behind us were taken first because there was two of them and there was three of us which should not happen. We finally got a table. Ordered our food which was lovely and then decided that we would have a dessert. We all tried to make eye contact with waiter/ waitresses with no success. After waiting 25 minutes for someone to take a dessert order we gave up. When paying we made it clear we were not happy. The staff were all standing behind the counter offering each other cups of tea/coffee. Not good customer service at all.Thank you for your review - there is absolutely no excuse for what happened to yous - we as management are always telling our staff to get out on the floor and make sure our customers are being properly looked after -we have always prided ourselves on excellent customer service. I have addressed this with my staff this morning and will continue to monitor how they are doing - this is one thing I am passionate about. Again thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Friendly quick service..Decent enough cheese toastie...However...There was minimal fish in the fishcake... So little it would best be described as a potato cake under the Trades Descriptions Act. Pity really.Spot the fish in the fish cake.... Hi Folks,Thank you for calling. Apologies about the fish cakes, it was simply a case of the batch not being mixed properly. If you had brought it to our attention we would have quickly resolved this. Delighted you enjoyed the service and your toastie. Hope you call again James
