Taken there by locals, we had very decent meals at value for money prices. I am gluten intolerant and they are well up with the game (a lot of places are still in the stone age for this) but our waiter who had long service there had to depart to question the chef about whether some things were safe for me. I would rather this than he made a mistake so, although it gives a poor impression of not being au fait with the menu, it can be overlooked. The ambience of the place is not that good. The décor in modern but it just feels so cold and sterile - not at all a comfortable surround; a great shame because the food was quite OK. Lots of parking space. Many thanks for the review of your visit to the Ashbourne Hotel, all the waiting staff are briefed on allergens and we hold a list with the menus detailing all the relevant allergen information about our menus, however we do instruct staff where they are unsure on a particular item to check before giving the wrong information, as is what seems to have happened on this occasion, As you say we would all rather that, than have the wrong information be passed. It is great to know that you enjoyed your meals and found it value for money.very many thanksAndrew

The team at Stallingborough Grange greeted us with Prosecco and canapés. They had laid out the table beautifully and thoughtfully. There were 27 in our party and the food and drinks were all delivered with impressive speed and presentation. The food was exceptional too.Dear RalphThank you for your lovely review on your recent visit to Stallingborough Grange. We are delighted that we helped to make your evening so enjoyable. Last month (April, 2015) the Wybers Chippy delightedly opened its doors again to the public after a long four week refurbishment. It has had a lavish and impressive new make over, has been fitted with a state of the art frying range and also now boasts a
Went here while staying in Grimsby, based on online reviews, and it was worth it, top quality haddock and chips, perfect, and cheap too, ie cheap compared to prices down south, A huge bit of haddock, perfectly cooked, bit too big for me, couldnt quite finish it. .Wishing there was a chippie as good in my home town.

Have used this chippy for many years. It has recently changed hands and seems to be a more friendly and happier place. The new owner is maintaining the high standard of frying. Having said that on my last two visits I have encountered bones in the fish....never had bones ever before. This is not the owners direct fault as he may gave changed supplier, but just a heads up. Never the less still a great chippy.

Went with family for an 80th Birthday lunch, welcomed by friendly polite staff, food was excellent and the portions a good size. All the food is homemade and the pie was excellent, make sure you have a good appetite especially if ordering the Desperate Dan pie, made fresh it's a steak and stilton pie in a thin short crust pastry, if bought packaged would read "feeds up to 4 adults" ordered with chunky chips and veg all I can say is wow, managed it but boy was I full. Good choice of other dishes and specials, something for everyone reasonably priced too, we had a great meal enjoyed by all.
