We visited Johnsonâs with my grandsons, who absolutely loved it.They enjoyed seeing all the different animals, especially the meerkats and the crocodiles. Then had a great time using the play equipment before we calmed things down with tea and cake.Itâs a fabulous place, so much to see and do. I particularly liked the basket of books to borrow in the tea room so the little ones were kept entertained. The farm shop is superb, such a great range of local produce and excellent value too - although I always end up spending more than I intended due to the vast number of temptations on offer. And we are so lucky to have this free attraction available to us it seems only fair to spend some money in the shop and tea room.

We sampled the delights of The Old Bridge restaurant three times over the course of our one night stay at the hotel. Our room rate included tea and scones on arrival which we chose to have in the hotel bar on a busy Saturday afternoon. Buzzy and welcoming, it was obviously a popular place for lunch and teas, and we thoroughly enjoyed ours served with clotted cream and jam, with starched napkins and beautiful china.Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Having enjoyed cocktails in the lounge where we were invited to study the menu and winelist, we were then taken through to the main restaurant and shown to our table. No upselling here- complimentary water, still or fizzy, was served with delicious crusty homemade bread. Starters- tomato and mozarella salad, and chicken liver pate- were both perfect. Tuna, served rare, and steak fillet tails were equally good. My steak was the best I've tasted in ages and ages... Desserts- top notch!Breakfast the next morning was just as good- a plentiful buffet with good quality ingredients, lots of strong coffee, and variations on a full English (and more) were on offer. And everything looked good enough to eat!The chef obviously knows his (or her!) stuff, as do the lovely waiting staff who looked after us.We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay here, and the restaurant was most definitely a highlight for us.Thanks to all for a most enjoyable experience. Thanks so much Delius for an amazingly positive review. And a big relief for the team after a run of more negative responses below this one, which is of course very dispiriting. We really look forward to seeing you again soon.Kind regardsJohn Hoskins

What a perfect stop when travelling along the A14 towards Kettering. Just a mile off the a14 nestled in a pretty village. Great welcome from landlord Simon. Fabulous centuries old building beautifully maintained. The menu was imaginative, all home cooked dishes.the service was delightful and immediate from a lovely lady whom name escapes me but has worked there for six years. Canât fault it. Food was excellent. Will be making this a pull off when travelling that route again.

A friend and I visited Huntingdon as itâs the half way point between where we both love and we were looking for a place to have lunch and catch up and spend a few hours chatting. We both had the pancakes with bacon although we had to ask for it to be crispy? You would think it would be standard the food was delicious and well priced, only only minor criticism was the service, there were many young girls working and it felt like they were more interested in chatting than serving or engaging with the customers. Itâs worth a visit as the food is good and unless you fancy a chain restaurant or a pub the town centre has limited options. However it feels more of a grab lunch and go place rather than a place to have a leisurely lunch and a chat.

In idyllic grounds, The Crown Inn Broughton is a charming pub restaurant, housed in a Grade II Listed building. In a homely and cosy setting, The Crown offers traditional, hearty fare and local produce. Modern and welcoming, the bar offers a handpicked wi
Our daughter got married at the end of August and had decided to have the reception at The Crown after visiting a number of other possible venues. The owner, Mark Burrell was brilliant throughout and made the whole planning stress free (or as stress free as any wedding is!). The marquee company did a great job and Markâs team ensured everything was trouble free. The menu was great (King prawn starter, stuffed chicken breast main and chocolate tart to finish)and vegetarian and vegan guests were also catered for. The feedback from a large number of guests praised all the waiting staff who were brilliant from serving the fizz and canapés to the tea/coffee at the end of the meal. Would certainly recommend for a wedding reception venue. Well done to all concerned

This extremely busy pub is now primarily a large restaurant with such a reputation for good food that pre booking is essential at weekends and other potentially busy periods. Parking is limited in their own car park but on street parking is available close by.My recommendation is to look at the Specials blackboard menu although the standard menu offers a great range. The triple meat roast on a Sunday is a popular choice.Staff are friendly despite being extremely busy and there are plenty of them.A pub restaurant that you are fairly certain will deliver to a high standard on all occasions.

17Th Century village pub in the village of Ellington, five minutes from the junction of the A14 and the A1, where Nick Marriott is creating food with new, exciting flavours, whilst also retaining some of the best traditional favourites. The pub was refurb
Very friendly atmosphere, exquisite food, fast service. I came in for lunch yesterday and had the pakora, brisket and the white chocolate fondant. honestly some of the food Iâve ever eaten, without a doubt the tastiest food in the area. The flavour pairing is absolute genius and clearly prepared and presented by a true professional. My dessert was absolutely amazing, who ever cooked it must be a truly skilled human being with an amazing eye for plating dishes up. The food and service was brilliant, and surprisingly affordable. Would recommend!

We visited the tea rooms at lunch time and found the food good but a little expensive for the portion size. The service , however, was good and the staff polite. The tables in the downstairs area are very close together and it is difficult to get around them.
