The Hawarden Estate Farm Shop Cafe + General Store serves hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches, hot dogs, fries and loaded flatbreads to stay in or takeaway. We are an extension of the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop and are a sister business to The Glynne Arms in Haw
Been visiting there over the years and have noticed a decline in the choices. Very little veg, only carrots and runner beans.Fruit was difficult to find except apples and rhubarb if you classify it as such. Cakes cut in half and rather hard to the touch. Plenty of jars and packets of exotic jams and sauces.? What to do with them. The place seemed to be catering for passing Cafe trade and even more tables had been erected to the expense of showing off wares. I thought that in a Farm Shop one might have bought a cabbage or a selection of fruit. No way. Could have picked a selection outside but if it is lashing down as it was who wants to do that. Rather expensive for anything but the meat was fine I hope=as I have not tasted any from there recently. The place was heaving with a wide range of customers most of whom were making a sorry racket and I was glad to get out. Things will have to improve before another visit which I think will be most unlikely as money seemed to be more important than giving a good range of consumables which I hope that most people who go there really want.

Not a fan of parties, but The Millstone surpassed all expectations. Food was superb, fresh and delicious. Friendly, fast staff, unobtrusive but ready, willing and able. Furnishings, comfortable and spotless. Loved my time there, will be recommending to friends and visitors, thank you.

The Glynne Arms is a 200 year old traditional coaching inn in the heart of Hawarden Village. Our philosophy is simple; to provide a warm, relaxed pub environment and excellent food in the restaurant. Our menu celebrates seasonality. We work closely with o
After noticing that there was a new menu with vegan burger online my friends and I decided to give it a try after being disappointed with the veg offering in years past. Upon arrival I asked what the vegan options were and was told anything with the black vegan symbol... So just humus then? A different member of staff later came over to say that although there were no vegan mains, the salads were more for vegans and I could have any of them without meat and cheese. The member of staff was friendly but being told to make something up using ingredients from other dishes made me feel pretty rubbish and not what Iâd expect when everywhere from Nandoâs to MacDonald manage to cater for vegans these days. My veggie friend asked for a goats cheese burger and they had also ran out of this. In the end I had some veg in a brioche bun Iâm pretty sure wasnât dairy free. They also have a fresh cream Eton mess labelled as vegan and no milk alternatives so itâs clear they arenât interested in catering for people on a plant based diet at all. Really disappointing. Meat eaters in the group said their food was fine/average.

An award-winning traditional 400 year old pub in the heart of Hawarden Village, serving real cask ales and homemade food. The Fox and Grapes has original wooden beams, wonky whitewashed walls, lots of nooks and snugs and after an extensive refurbishment i
We visit the Fox and Grapes several times a year as it's fairly local for us and is our favourite eatery close to home.Food is always good and the menu varied enough for everybody to find something to their taste, including us vegetarians! Staff are efficient and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Car park entrance is very narrow though, so we usually park in the public car park a moment's walk down the road at Tinkersdale.

Couldnât rate the Master Fryer highly enough. I regularly do a 15-mile round trip from home to come here, past weâll over a dozen more convenient places. Tony and his team do an amazing job with amazing ingredients - youâll have to go a long way to find a better takeaway, certainly the best Fish & Chips in Flintshire by an absolute street. But donât ignore the rest! The cheeseburgers and chicken burgers are also fabulous - I havenât come across any part of the menu that hasnât been absolutely first class. If you want a takeaway and live within 10 miles of here, you wonât find anywhere better - guaranteed.

Bringing together the traditional values of great quality seasonal produce and a service associated with a bygone era, with a modern interpretation of food and drink. Set in beautiful Hawarden village, The Old Grocery occupies a building that historically

Just enjoyed another excellent meal here. The Chef may have changed, but the food is still great and the service friendly and attentive. Try it for yourself! Wood fired pizzas are highly recommended (but are occasionally off the menu, so call ahead if thatâs what you want specifically) but thereâs plenty of choice if youâre flexible. The Hellfire Burger is great if you like heat Weâll be back soon.
