the food was nice and had a good value however they were let down by the service. this is because there were 2 tables occupied including us and we still had to go up for menus and to order even though they shouldâve come to us. There were 2 staff members so it shouldâve been easy. 1 staff member per table duhhhh.

A traditional pub with good real ales and good food. Husband had sausage and onion baguette and I had a Ham ploughmans both were very nice. Landlady friendly as were her customers. It's the sort of place you feel so comfortable in and would happily move house so it could be your local.

Visited in late afternoon with two aduts and two young children. Place was virtually deserted and nobody came to show us to a table for several minutes (I think the only waiter / server was on the phone). It's a gastropub rather than a restaurant; wide-ranging printed menu and well-presented food. Very good for young children, with high chairs available (though the waiter apologised for having run out of crayons with the child's menu!) - the three-year-old loved the docor with models of taxi, steam locomotive, motor bike, fire engine etc around the walls.

Tucked away inside the chic Beales Hotel in Hatfield, the Outsidein Restaurant is the perfect place for romantic rendezvous, discreet business dining or afternoon tea parties. Popular with glossy local gourmands and an international crowd, the dining room
This restaurant, part of Beales Hotel, was good overall. We went on a weekend just before Xmas so not perhaps the best timing and were surprised to find it almost deserted. Staff helpfully pointed out that a Weatherspoons had opened next door and many people apparently now dine there. Food was certainly better than a spoons, although perhaps not quite of the highest quality. The Vegan menu was pretty good and we got into a bit of a strange tangle about what Arancini are (ie. they brought us something else that wasn't the order) but this was soon resolved. Worth visiting, but perhaps better on Monday- Friday.Thank you for your review of Outsidein Restaurant at Beales Hotel.I am glad you enjoyed your visit in the main, but sorry that the restaurant wasn't busier. Yes, there is a Wetherspoons right next door, but the award winning AA rosette cuisine in Outsidein has nothing in common with this chain, and provides altogether a much higher standard. Head Chef Jamie Curtis and his team have a new menu out this January, and trade is picking up again this new year so do come and pay us a visit again when you are ready. Auberge du Lac, Hertfordshire's award-winning restaurant, is set in the magnificent parkland of the Brocket Hall Estate in Welwyn. A former Hunting Lodge dating back to 1760, Auberge du Lac sits proudly alongside the water's edge in its own peaceful envir
We booked Auberge Du Lac after a friend had bought me a gift voucher for a 3 course lunch there. From start to finish the service was amazing & they went out of there way to help me as my leg was in plaster. All 3 courses were so delicious & we were also bought out bread & butter & some delicious canapés made by the amazing chef. We sat outside to eat to admire the view which was great apart from the wasps which isnât the restaurants fault. We would definitely recommend this restaurant & would definitely go back again. Hello 698lindsayrThank you for the glowing review and pleased to hear we have made a great impression! We will pass your comments to the team and we hope to see you again soon.Warm Regards,Auberge du Lac

Grade 11 listed country pub right next door to the village church. Traditional cosy pub serving lunch and dinners with a renowned Sunday lunch. 2 bars and Al fresco dining in the covered garden. Dog friendly and children meals offered. Log fires in the wi
Have been here many times over last 50 years. Took my 87yr old mum whose lived in the village last 35 yrs here for Sunday Lunch in August. She used to meet here with a group of friends over the years. Sadly she is the only one left now as all the others have passed away. The Roasts were all really lovely. Huge and more importantly hot. And veggie roast good too. Very good service from friendly staff. Visited again following weekend Viva Santana and BBQ. Very busy but good atmosphere and continued into the evening. The owners seem very nice too as are the staff.

The Plough has recently re opened following a huge refurbishment, we are still waiting to have a lot of old reviews removed so please give us a try and we hope you enjoy it :-)
Disappointed to find that due to a very peculiar booking system it is impossible to simply drop in for Sunday lunch.Every booking occupies two tables (one inside and one outside) which immediately halves the number of available tables.Staff seemed disinterested and certainly unapologetic.

The Candlestick Freehouse and Restaurant - A traditional Pub renowned for excellent food and a superb wine list, is located in the picturesque hamlet of West End near Essendon in Hertfordshire. Being located in such a peaceful setting allows for a relaxin
Went for a family meal having previously enjoyed the food at The Candlestick. Sadly the day we visited the chef must have been having an off day. The fish and chips were soggy and greasy, the peas dry and shrivelled. The veggie lasagne was heavy and uninspiring. It's always embarrassing leaving food on the plate, but it was just so hard to finish such a disappointing meal. I felt bad recommending it. I know The Candlestick can do much better.

The Sibthorpe Arms is set in the heart of Welham Green. We are a McMullens tenanted business serving their popular real ales and a fine selection of chilled beers and wines from around the world. We served freshly prepared food daily, service with a warm
Pie, mash and pies with the uncertain possibility that it was instant mash... Oh dear. Simple fair and nothing exciting. Waitresses polite and bonus for offering smaller plates.

Went for early dinner and seated immediately. Unfortunately it was by service entrance so very noisy. Staff very attentive and took my orders at the table. Had chicken and chorizo skewers with rice and zingy salad. amazing range of flavours. Salad was so fresh and full of zing. Skewers were hot. Tender and tasty. The Pinot Grigio was a delight. Not one Iâd had before, and Iâve had many! Would definitely return.Hi SarahCUkThank you for taking the time to review your visit to the Red Lion. I'm sorry your table was noisy , we are happy to move you if you would be comfortable elsewhere. I 'm glad you enjoyed your meal and service and hope you return soon if only for the wine!Kind RegardsJez
