Casual quality dining at an affordable price in a traditional english country pub
What a lovely gem of a country pub. Unspoilt by the modern rat race. Matt the landlord is a smashing bloke, the Thai food is superb and The Harveys Best is every bit as good as Black Boys Inn, which is the yardstick as far as Harveys is concerned...

I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. Everyone is friendly. Have visited on 3 separate occasions. The steak burger was very tasty. The fish slightly dry and tasteless. Also served on a piece of wood. While this looked good it was very hard to eat from. Sadly the chicken caesar salad was absolutely let down by the obscene amount of mayonnaise that was used. I cant even contemplate the thought of mayonnaise in my life ever again. So sad, I will have to find somewhere else to eat with my friends

The Kings Head is a friendly family run pub, just on the outskirts of Hailsham, East Sussex. Serving an extensive British menu, head chef Louisa Weaver has put seasonality at the heart of her cooking. Louisa is particularly passionate about sourcing local
Visited the Kings Head for food (staying elsewhere). Nice choice on the menu and specials available. Maybe a little pricy for standard of food presentation and ambiance but what we had was tasty.

We were in Hailsham for just one night and having looked at the most recommended eating establishments, chose Callenders and were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Rachel who looked after us all evening and assisted with some of the menu choices. Callenders offers a varied a la carte menu as well as daily specials on a blackboard. We had three courses of delicious, well prepared, well cooked and well presented food (there were three of us and we all chose different dishes). A nice touch is that all dishes on the menu are accompanied by a spefcified potato but Rachel said we could chose any type of potato to accompany our main dishes which we did. Another plus point is a reasonable wine selection at very reasonable prices. Raachel was attentive, efficient and most charming which helped make the whole vexperience most enjoyable. If we are in the vicinity again, we shall most definitely revisit Callenders..Hello Voyage28. Many thanks for taking the time to write such a lovely review for us. I tried here for the first time with my elderly Grandfather. We booked as had been told it gets busy and the staff organised an easily accessible table near the door. From the second we arrived until we left they made us feel very welcome. The menu is varied with everything from lighter bites to something a bit more substantial. I plumped for the Bucklers Salad which was very tasty and my Grandad chose the Estrella Battered Fish & Chips with mushy peas. It was a large portion and he scoffed it all!!!The presentation of the food was excellent and the ingredients were freshWell done Bucklers and the front of house staff, you have a winning combination

We came here for a meal after being at knockhatch adventure park all day. The young lady was very friendly. The food was delicious, our 7 year old son had a kids ribs meal which was not only good value for money but great quality. My wife and I had the ribs, I had a bourbon glaze and she had the house glaze which was BBQ. As you can see from the pic the full rack was huge. The meat fell off the bone as it was cooked to perfection. Also the mozzarella sticks and the Mac n cheese was excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!!

Authentic Hungarian street food, a fluffy and crispy bread speciality topped or filled to your liking World famous Goulash soup and weekly specialities from Hungarian and international cousin Home made puddings Quality wines from native grape varieties
Passing through Hailsham at lunchtime on this sunny Autumn afternoon, and TA suggested Bebble's to us. What a lovely and different alternative to the usual cafes! At the heart of its fare is Hungarian langos, and these fried bread rolls - with endless filling choices - were done extremely well. Also with many different side orders available, including goulash. We sat outside as it was so lovely, and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Certainly glad we found Bebble's!

We serve classic English breakfast and brunch with authentic Caribbean dinner and lunch.
Londoners wandering around Lewes on a september saturday looking for somewhere to eat with wheelchair access found Irma's tucked away at the far end of the high street.Situated on the corner of several streets we sat outside and watched the world go by.We were told that there would be a bit of a wait for our food. Around twenty minutes didn't seem excessive and it was well worth waiting for.A very good reason for us to visit Lewes again. Our very best wishes to Irma's owners and staff.Hi sigrid oThank you very much for your 5* review and great feedback - we appreciate it very much.Do come back and see us again if you find yourselves wandering around in this neck of the woods again. :o)Best wishes
