We were visiting the area to see family who booked this restaurant for dinner. At 730 it was packed and people were waiting for tables. It was a great atmosphere. The staff were all amazing, friendly , attentive and very efficient. There is a great menu with a great selection of seafood and steak options with other choices. You can preorder some dishes eg Dover sole which some of the group had. We all had starters which were all good, the dip with the salt and pepper squid was very spicy and delicious, the local mussels in garlic sauce were so fresh, the garlic prawns and the fresh scallops were very good too. The steaks were also beautifully cooked and of good quality. Mine with pepper sauce was not hot but could be eaten , the fresh onion rings were great along with the chips. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would recommend this restaurant.

Went out with the wife on Saturday night and we fancied a meal so just rocked up here on spec and were told to wait about 15 minutes for a table, no problem, the guy returned a few minutes later and said it would be 20 minutes instead and offered a drink on the house! great service. The meal was brilliant, I had whitebait for starters which was as good as any I've had anywhere, the Hunter's chicken for mains was similarly great. Must mention the guy who served us as he was excellent and it makes such a change from the usual kids on front of house who don't have a clue. Will definitely return! £42 for 2 including drinks and starters.

Managed to get booked in for 4.30 on a Saturday, so went for a country drive and my mind is selecting what I wanted to eat as I drove along. Now love the lobster Thermidor but had an anchoring for a fillet steak and I could taste it in my mind.So when arriving I had a dilemma, but that was soon allayed when I mentioned surf and turf I was offered half a lobster together with a fillet steak, lubbly jubbly. So we started with humous and taramasalata c/w pitta which both were excellent, but are very filling, Jo had bass with trimmings and I had me surf & turf.I wasnât disappointed, the fillet was cooked to perfection, medium rare, the knife cut through it like butter and it had that succulent taste that my mind had whilst driving, brilliant, the Thermidor also was to perfection. We were both to full to try one of the homemade puddings Thanks Robbie and staff, glad you fitted us in before your holidays.Have a great holiday and see you soon.Hi, thank you so much for a great review. It was a real pleasure to serve your special "surf and turf", it's not everyday we see an order for steak and lobster :-) ! We all had a great holiday thank you and we are now looking forward to your return when we hope to twist your arm to tray one of Ella's fantastic home made desserts

This restaurant was formerly called Lazzarellas for which there are several Reviews existing - see the list as I informed you at the end of last year it would be closing. The new owners have improved everything. New decorations, new menu and crockery etc.
Once again another wonderful visit to The Courtyard. Katie again the perfect host. Attention to detail superb.Food was delicious. The atmosphere is spot on and everyone made to feel so welcome. Even though the restaurant is small you still feel like you have plenty of space and are not crammed in.One thing, make sure you book in advance to ensure you donât miss out.
