Mentioned twice in reviews of Ely as place to visit, but not listed as yet as a restaurant
Reviews can cover food, staff, and location. As we went in and sat down âThe Almonryâ just felt right for us. We were not disappointed. My wifeâs soup was enjoyable. I had an excellent slice of quiche. Chips every bit as good as I have had elsewhere. And a salad served for the first time in my experience in a shallow dish gradually built up from lettuce etc, then cucumber, tomato with a ring of yellow pepper, filled with coleslaw, plus onion and cress. Ie not just quickly thrown on the side of the plate. Plus a proper sachet of ketchup. Note filter coffee has a cheap refill. The service is competent and friendly. A slight wrinkle was that the outside seating and just inside were all tables for 4, and mostly in use by couples. So it seemed full, yet had several empty chairs. One of the problems of being so popular. A final trip to the toilet unveiled another room with many tables for couples. We live 3 hours drive away, otherwise I would be here quite often.

We visited this pub just for a couple of drinks on our way home from the theatre. There was a good selection of 'craft' ales, although we drink lager. The service at the bar was good, the bar staff were very pleasant.

Arrived admittedly at about 9pm for a drink. Would have been happy to have been told 'sorry, it's a little late', but got a surly 'you can have a quick one'. Never felt so unwelcome. Left.

The Three Kings is a traditional village pub, formerly a 17th Century coaching inn, focusing on innovative classic fresh food with modern twist, high standard drinks and best customer service. You are assured to have a great time in the pub with your frie
Excellent from start to finish, the service we the 1st thing that impressed, a young bar maid served us and was well above her age for the quality of service, easy to pigeonhole younger staff as some times they can seem somewhat disinterested but not this young lady, next we were impressed by another young lady who approached us to ask if we wanted to order, we had arrived very early for our table and chose to have a drink and a seat to look at the menu before moving to the restaurant, she was very polite and knowledgable. When it was time to eat she showed us through and took our order. The food was really really good, well served again this time by 2 other members of staff again youngsters.Clearly everyone here is well trained and they take a pride in their work. The bill was lower than expected, all four of us enjoyed the meal and evening, we would all recommend The Three Kings and we will be back although not local.

STOP PRESS... We are proud to announce we have received 2 AA rosettes for culinary excellence. Having initially trained at the White Pheasant in 2005, Head Chef Calvin Holland went on to cook at some of the UK's finest multi-rosette & Michelin Star restau
Was really looking forward to eating here.Went for the tasting menu which did not disappoint although service although friendly and efficient was not at the level of professionalism the food warranted while the ambience did not match it either which is a shame.

Visiting from the USA. We had a lovely dinner. Friendly and efficient staff. Food was served very promptly. Truly what I expected of an authentic English dinner. We had Leg of Lamb and Grilled Sea Bass. Small and cozy dining area. Family friendly.

We are a traditional English tearoom, offering cream teas, hot dishes, salads and sandwiches all day, and all freshly prepared to order. It's not 'fast food' and sometimes, especially busy days in the summer, there may be a bit of a wait for the food. It
This is a very well-run long-established little restaurant, situated in one of the most delightful parts of Ely. As well as their regular menu items, always keep a look-out for the couple of novelties, chalked up on the board as special dishes of the day. Usually these are imaginative and excellent (especially the puddings!)Don't be misled by the 'tea room" soubriquet. Whilst they serve a varied range of teas and cakes, it is also perfectly possible to have quite a substantial lunch here. Not to be missed. Thanks andrewjameswarren,Nicely put. It's always interesting to see how others view us. You're right - it's not always easy to know what a tearoom is going to offer, but I'm glad you enjoy the way we do it. I suppose we are 'long-established' now, though I don't pretend we're in the same league as that lovely Ely restaurant The Old Fire-Engine House (51 years+) or the doyenne of tearooms Betty's in Harrogate (founded in the 1930's).

We dropped in here when we stayed at the Royal Standard, for a coffee. Couldn't resist the chocolate brownie, so glad we went.

Ely's only dedicated vegan and gluten free cafe. Serving delicious food and drinks throughout the day. Located over two floors in the gorgeous grade2 listed 35 Forehill.
What a great find. Everything on the menu vegan AND gluten free and absolutely delicious too. Lots of choice, fresh ingredients and beautifully presented by very friendly and helpful staff. Lots more seating upstairs including a big comfy sofa and a bookshelf full of books. They looked after our big heavy cycling panniers downstairs so that we could go relax upstairs.
