The Durham Ox is the oldest inn in Ilkeston dating from 1780 with later Victorian editions. The property is steeped in history having once been used as the town gaol with secret passages taking the prisoners from the cells in the cellars up to the Church
We chose the Durham Ox as it has a very good reputation for good food & service.Sunday lunch was beautiful, staff were excellant, very friendly & helpful. We will most certainly return there for lunch again in the near future.

Ordered from Epic Diner for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint. We ordered through just eat for collection and it was ready within 20 minutes. We ordered peri peri chicken which was lovely and hot, really enjoyed the chips too. I definitely recommended getting a mojito! Will be back again!

Weve been to the Thorn Tree many times and have always enjoyed the meals weve had. Our meal yesterday was lovely except for my daughters chicken dinner when the chicken came out pink inside. We sent it back and an alternative meal was given in its place which she enjoyed. The staff are always lovely and I always find them welcoming and will do whatever they can to make your visit a good experience. It would be nice to have an alternative to chips or sweet potatoes chips, like new potatoes or a jacket and I'd personally like the option of a non fried fish that say came with a lemon and parsley sauce but that's just a personal choice..Highly recommended x

A small get together with the family in this out of the way destination, we enjoyed the standard afternoon tea. Good standard of food at a very reasonable price. The venue is very rural.Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are a small family business and work hard to give you the best experience. Do let us know if you can see anyway we can make improvements. We hope to see you soon.

My first visit and well worth it.Staff very friendly and I love the drinks being brought to you when eating. There is a lovely garden on the back.Toilets nice and clean.Good impressions all round. The toilets are ok for disabled too.We all had defferant meals and they were all excelant.A varied menu so not disappointing.I was undecided but decided to go with one of the burgers. If there was 1 gripe I prefer my food on a plate not on what my burger came on.There is nowhere to eat your food as the chips in a basket ,onion rings, burger in a bun, coleslaw and sauce all come together on the slate type of thing not leaving a lot of room to eat.

We are a tearooms located in the craft workshops close to the DH Lawrence museum. We serve breakfasts light lunches cream teas and afternoon teas. We serve award winning teas and coffees including loose leaf tea.
We were looking for somebody to pack up a picnic for 12 of us to go and watch Nottinghamshire play Yorkshire at Trent Bridge. My parents knew of this place and asked if they would cater for us. We are VERY pleased they were able to help out. The per head price was about half what we had expected and when we saw the picnic became even better value. The food was excellent and there was more than enough for a hungry cricket crowd. Cannot recommend highly enough. In fact, weâve already put in our order for the next game!!

I went to Oliver's for the first time for Lunch with a couple of friends. The staff where very friendly & welcoming. The food was excellent, 2 of us had freshly cooked cod in light crispy batter, peas & hand cut chips. Our other friend had the pie which she said was equally as good. It was 2 for £10 & drinks £2 we couldn't believe the excellent value for money for the quality of the food. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try homemade deserts which sounded tempting, next time we will.
