Handmade, hand crafted burgers in a relaxed setting looking over the famous Dunfermline Abbey. If you are looking for some real cooking done with a twist the The Old Inn is a must try. We have over 15 handmade burgers on the menu and some great craft beer
Having had a meal here one year for our Xmas night out a couple of years ago we decided to have a bar lunch here whilst on a shopping trip to Dunfermline. The pub has a vintage "old" feeling about it on the outside but it is clean and well laid out inside. Once through the door head straight on to the rear of the building, where the food is served, if you only want a pint then turn right once through the door where you will find the bar. Once seated the server came over and took our order, although 99% of the food was burgers there are chicken and veggie options too with plenty of sides. All burgers come with fries. Most if not all burgers have some sort of cheese on them, however if you don't like cheese (like myself) I would urge you to leave it on as it compliments the burger and doesn't detract or dull the taste (like some fast food places). Without doubt this has got to be the best burger I (and my wife complimented the taste too, a huge compliment from her!) have ever tasted the bun was warm and soft, the meat was melt in the mouth and the cheese just a prefect accompaniment to the meat. The servers (sorry didn't get your names but you were working Sun 19th Aug 2018) were polite, well presented and prompt. If you are looking for a light lunch with great taste and at a great price then this is the place for you, its right outside the Abbey and kids are allowed in if you are ordering food.

Posh Fish & Chips
Often go in here at weekends. The food is really good. Bit frustrating when after the shops great opening I went on one day and the card machine was âbrokenâ. So trekked over to Tesco, (there is no continuous pedestrian path) then the next time the excuse was the WiFi affecting card transactions so cash only. The third time no signs were up so I thought, hooray, back in business. But no, cash only. Apple Pay signs everywhere but you canât use that either. Today-I clearly gave my order-twice, after confusion the first time-and was rudely told to, âbe clearer next timeâ. Irritating that itâs now cash only and narked about attitude towards customers. At the outset, we were always offered complimentary homemade coleslaw but I notice thatâs stopped too. If you want to maintain custom maybe you might want to restore all the great touches you had at the start. I have a car so can easily go back to Maurizosâs in Inverkeithing, used to be my regular and score top points in every department.

Out for lunch with the family at 12.00 first customers through the door . Met warmly by the staff and perused the menu . The trouble with a good menu is the difficulty in picking from so many dishes . We took the catch of the day Sea Bream ,/Posh Fish and Chips/Chicken Schnitzel/vegetable Tacos /Garlic King Prawns. These were absolutely superb and for a sweet we took the Apple Spring Rolls/Meringue 3 ways and Chocolate special which had my Daughter in Law in heaven . I would like to add that the chef is one of the top pastry chefs in the UK .We all agreed that this meal was sublime . Have a look at my photos the food is as sensational as it looks Well done to the Staff , Management and the Chef .

The Pub at the Heart of the community. The Carnock Inn draws people from all walks of life together to celebrate the old fashioned art of conversation while enjoying good beer, fantastic selection of Gins and a wine list that will keep you smiling for a l
We hadn't been here for years and were really impressed with the friendly service and quality of the meals. We ordered a lot of different starters and mains and everything was piping hot & very tasty. I would recommend the baked chicken with the haggis stack! Sadly, no room for desserts (this time) but we'll be back. Our two grandsons enjoyed the kid's menu too.

A gem of a find overlooking the water in Limkilns. Very friendly and welcoming pub with a great choice of both food and drinks, including local ales. We popped in three times whilst we stayed in the area - good quality lunch time menu and even when we just stopped off for a coffee one afternoon it was a really welcoming (I recommend you try the homemade scones). Thursday was open mic night for local musicians and was a really lively friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.Hi Sue,Thanks for taking the time to write your lovely review. Award-winning family run Pantry and Kitchen in the heart of the Fife countryside serving homemade food all prepared in our kitchen from locally sourced and fresh ingredients.
How have I never heard of this place before?Went as a large group for a a celebration lunch and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very friendly, attentive and the food was amazing with generous portions I had the Mac n cheese which was delish and others had cranberry Panini, chicken curry, lasagne, fish. All were thoroughly enjoyed. The desserts were fab too and all home made by the owner. The staff offered to cut up our cake then returned having bagged up the pieces individually to take away. Really can't recommend enough and will be back.
