Sorry but okay food with dining room full of strange clutter & a dirty tablecloth on our table to eat off. Definitely a unique quirky experience, but really shouldnât be the top rated cafe/ restaurant in Ulverston. Amazing that the faults you have chosen to state are surface ones food is not okay is excellent, table cloth is possibly ongoing unique experience top notch and yes we are the best!! maybe you should stick to Costa Coffee!?!

Popped in for a coffee and cake and was rewarded with an absolutely amazing slice of raspberry crumble. The slice was huge and melted in my mouth. It was simply scrumptious! My wife and sister had the millionaire shortbread and said it was divine! The coffee was also delicious. Ended up buying 10 candles and several cards as they were simply irresistible and great for little gifts. Definitely be back as from the moment you walk from the door the quality and quantity of goods, food and professional staff is utterly fantastic. A truly great place to spend a few hours! What a great read! Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave us such positive feedback, it's fantastic to be able to tell the staff this who work exceptionally hard every day. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again soon.

You won't find a better pint than at the General Burgoyne. We welcome you to take advantage of our well kept beer and fresh, home cooked pub food. Our real fire is a real draw, whether toasting your toes in colder months, or drying out after Lakeland show

Sweet Pepper Cafe is a cafe serving food & drinks using only plant-based ingredients. It is a place for food lovers who want to try a different interpretation of popular dishes from our multi-cuisine menu.
Got the salt and Pepper chips which came in a soggy brown bag, when trying to lift the bag of them out of the carrier bag it completely ripped and fell apart. Poor packaging. Also got the carbonara pasta, was okay. But was not keen on the fact that there was full pepper corns in it Hi Tanya,Sorry to hear about your chips. We try to use environmentally friendly packaging to minimize waste as much as possible and so far, you're the first to mention about a soggy ergo ripped chip bag. We will make some changes.About your pasta, we only use cracked black pepper on it so not sure how full peppercorns went into it. Again, a first. Also, did you know that Sweet Pepper Cafe is just a phone call away? If you're ever unhappy or unsatisfied with any of our delivered products, just give us a ring straight away and we'll deliver you a fresh batch at no extra cost. Thanks for your comment and we aim to serve you better in the future.

The finest place to eat in Cumbria's Southern Peninsula Welcome to an easier, more pleasurable dining experience. At Oscar's you will enjoy the best food, the best drinks, the best service and, of course, the best surroundings in South Cumbria. ...from st
We ate oscars buffet breakfast for our first morning at Abbey House and the breakfast selection was good! Small but a variety of food and a set menu to choose from too. The croissants were lovely and fresh! Cereals and fruit available too as well as a full English breakfast. For room service we ordered pancakes which were tasty but presentation could be improved! We also ordered sticky toffee pudding one night for dessert and wow it was amazing!!!! Forgot to take a picture as it was too good! Highly recommend oscars! Next time we will be sure to try the afternoon tea and also the dinner menu!

Offering fresh homemade brunch dishes. We make everything on the premises from our delicious breakfast dishes, cakes pastries and even our own chocolates and truffles. Pop in and sample our local coffee and loose teas, a friendly welcome awaits.
We booked as a group of 16 on Friday evening. Three courses and an amuse bouche (which in itself was starter size) for £25. The food was faultless, every course was delicious & the service was impeccable. Portions were generous. Brilliant evening, we would definitely recommend.

We visited the Brown Cow on Sunday evening. We were seated upstairs, there were a couple of other tables full, the atmosphere was quite flat up there though. Service was quick and friendly. For starters I had the pate which came with chutney, toast and some salad. The pate was really tasty, I thoroughly enjoyed this starter! My husband and daughter shared chicken strips and garlic bread, again both garnished with a little fresh salad. The both really enjoyed theirs, especially the chicken strips. For mains I had Mexican chicken which came with chips, it was really tasty, but I only managed about half the portion and a couple of chips. My husband had lamb shank, he said it was cooked well & very tasty. My daughter had chicken tikka masala- the potion was huge! She orders this meal quite often when we go out, however, she did say the curry had a funny taste on it, like tangy. Anyway she probably ate a quarter of the dish as it was so big. In summary, the service was friendly, itâs s nice little pub, the food was good, just too much of it! If we ever passed through Dalton again, we would return and just have a main from the small portion menu.

Wonderful family meal with my brother & his fiancée, over from Chesterfield, and our son.The restaurant was already over half full when we arrived just after 7pm and filled up totally by 8pm.Bro. and his lady chose from the impressive vegan menu while us carnivores pondered over the extensive array of options at our disposal.Mrs D and I eat here three or four times a year and have never been disappointed but tonight the food was especially good. Every dish was packed full of flavour. From the vegan menus, they chose bread & olives to share followed by Mediterranean vegetable enchiladas & vegan pizza with mixed veg & vegan cheese. The latter, we were informed was the best they have had anywhere.Son devoured a 12 garlic bread to start before plumping for the chicken breast with applewood smoked cheddar. Both excellent.Mrs D chose salt & pepper squid "gorgeous" and the excellent pork pancetta.I, reviving my French holiday tastes, had an extremely tasty and perfectly cooked confit duck followed by a fabulous rump steak, cooked to perfection at medium-rare and packed full of flavour. Even the little salad side-dish was lovely as were the skins-on potato wedges.Vegan black currant crumble, vegan ice-cream, rhubarb & ginger crumble and lemon posset were all divine desserts too.Having eaten in France with their excellent full flavoured food, we are often disappointed when we come home at our bland English fare, but not last night (or last Wednesday when the two of us popped here for tea to suss out the vegan options) - it was simply fabulous.Service was excellent too and we relaxed in the lovely restaurant atmosphere for over three hours as the "chef brought his A game" tonight.

Converted 17th Century town mill with the original waterwheel still intact in centre of pub. The venue has a beautiful cask ale bar (CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2011-19) with eight hand pulls serving a variety of Cumbrian, Lancastrian and national ales. We ar
My husband and I came here for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a couple of drinks outside on the upstairs terrace initially, which was lovely, then ate in the bar area downstairs.Food (3 courses) was amazing - especially the scotch egg! Service was prompt and overall it was a lovely evening. Really recommend! Hi 254alia, thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review, and congratulations on your anniversary! We're so pleased to hear that yourself and your husband enjoyed your wedding anniversary at The Mill at Ulverston. We're delighted with your feedback, and hope to see you again very soon.
