Limes Restaurant is situated on the High Street of the historic and picturesque village of Lindfield in West Sussex. The restaurant has a seasonal menu with daily specials using locally sourced produce. Our cuisine is British with the occasional Asian inf
Went on a Saturday night in a party of four. The restaurant was part full. Decor simple, modern and unfussy. The menu had some attractive choices including vegetarian options. These were adapted for vegans by removing elements, rather than these being vegan dishes by design, although our vegans still enjoyed them. There was a delicious little free taster of which I could have easily eaten a full plate. Food was very good quality and service attentive. Itâs not cheap but the food is of the standard of more expensive places, plus Lindfield is a pretty village and parking so much easier/less stressful than most of the local towns. Would definitely go again. I know they do a full vegan menu on other occasions. This review would have been a 5 if there had been a vegan choice that was less of a compromise.

Really good menu and specials for the hearty appetite or those wanting a lighter bite. Plenty of choice from burgers, sausages, fish & chips to salads and specials. Very friendly service and a good choice of beers etc. Nice inside and also lovely outside of the weather allows. Would highly recommend the burger and the amazing âchipsâ which were more like roast potato wedges with a tasty tomato relish. Caesar salad also excellent. Great timing for a business lunch. If only we had room for pudding!

The Rose and Crown is a family run village Gastro Pub in the heart of Cuckfield. There is a beautiful garden with a bar which serves Pizzas on sunny weekends.
We chose Rose & Crown for lunch as weâve been there before and the food has always been very good. However, this certainly wasnât the case this time.We ordered the lamb rump, two burgers, one salmon sandwich and two kids meals (fish coujons). The salmon sandwich had barely any filling in it and the bread certainly had seen better days. On top of this there was a hair in it - enough to put one of our party off any lunch altogether! One of the burgers was ok but the other one was just raw inside! They cooked it some more which made it ok but by then we were already fairly put out. The lamb rump was far from tender and apparently wasnât enjoyable at all!The kids meals only had one fish coujon on the plate and for £6.50 I wouldâve expected another. They took the sandwich and one of the burgers off the bill but it still costed us £62 for a very disappointing lunch (it was mainly food as we only drank some diet cokes and milk). We left feeling utterly disappointed and like weâve been ripped off!As mentioned before, we have visited Rose & Crown before and have been very impressed with the food, especially the sandwiches. But Iâm sorry to say that we will not be returning again.

Our google maps were not precise.Lovely courtyard setting, easy parking.Great terrace and lawn.Mature experienced staff who are experts at customer service.Everything just so.Food amazing so fresh and so many tastes. Even the olives in the bar are great, marinaded in lemon, peppers.I had the lobster avocado and mango starter. SublimeAcross our group we had most items on the menu. All perfect. Even the breads are top notch. Focaccia to remember.

We came here for my husbands birthday. There was a card for him when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.Good atmosphere, despite being nearly empty. Excellent service. Food was amazing, good choice and beautifully presented. Each dish was a surprise, well presented and tasted delicious. We will be back!Hi Penguin, in my opinion its the little touches that separate you from the rest! Obviously you need to get the fundamentals right first, which it sounds like we did? Thank you for your positive feedback. Best wishes, Joel

Had a meal for 6 on Bank holiday Monday.Unfortunately 2 steaks that were ordered medium rare were served well done. However, they were replaced with apologies and without question with 2 perfect steaks and to my surprise,we weren't charged for these items. All of the other meals were perfect and we had a great time.Sometimes its about how you correct a problem and the Talbot deals with it perfectly and I would"nt hesitate in returning.
