This is a classic traditional small pub that does good quality food at a very reasonable price. The service was good and the food came out quicker than i expected. It is a small pub with beams in the ceiling and is quite homely. My wife had ham and cheese sandwiches with chips and the meal was big. I had sausage with onion gravy. Very tasty. The tea and coffee come in large mugs - great value.. Well worth a call in if you are passing. Far more economical than eating down the road in Llangollen

Went for Sunday lunch with friends x x lovely sunny day so sat in the garden with a drink before going in to eat. The decor is a little dated. Set price for 1, 2 or 3 courses. Traditional Sunday roast with choice of meats. I had beef, three lovely big slices, roast and boiled potatoes and a dish of various veg to share. The Yorkshire pud was enormous and tasty. Staff friendly and helpful

Restaurant with rooms we stayed one night. Fabulous from first greeting to breakfast before we left. The room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless. We were shown to our courtyard room and given fresh milk for our tea and coffee. there was a pod machine and ground coffee in the room. The meal was amazing from canapé to coffee. The mushroom starter was the best ever. We will be back. Couldn't fault it. Thank you both for a fabulous unforgettable stay.

Nice varied menu, great location by canal and dog friendly outside at least, food was good but service was horribly slowVery sorry that service was slow during your visit, we do try to be as quick as we can but sometimes we do get rather busy. (dogs are allowed in our bar area in the pub, not just outside)

Open for Food all day serving excellent home cooked meals. Carvery available on a Wednesday and Sunday Lunchtime. Wine List and Cocktails available. Conservatory available for functions and meetings
Visited this pub twice in a fortnight, once for my mums birthday and then for a meal with the hubby.. both meals were served quickly, fresh ingredients. The curry was homemade and delicious, the gammon was fresh and chips home cooked. The service was quick, polite and staff were very friendly. Overall very impressed and will visit again soon.

Visited with a group of friends, 8 of us in total. Choice of 3 excellent real ales, including our Black Country favourite, Bathams. Plenty of choice of food. Most of us had starters, including whitebait, king prawns & Calamari. The mains were also superb, I had sea bass which is the best I've had. Friendly staff, excellent food and drink. What more can you want from a pub. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Booking is advisable as it can get quite busy.

We have visited at least 8 times before and mostly on a Thursday when we travel from Staffordshire to visit my Dad and treat him to a lovely meal at The Greyhound! What a shame this time, they do say you are only as good as your last service and this was terrible. The restaurant only had two other people in it and we were seated quickly and our order taken soon after, so far, so good, Now it goes downhill, The Lamb was pan fried and like rubber, the full rack of ribs were a third missing and their service was invisible. On the plus side the Liver and onions with mashed potato went down a treat and the ribs tasted good but not what I would call a full rack. Once finished both our table and the other table sat for 10 minutes with our finished plates sitting on the table, the 3 staff (including the Chef) were sitting at a table by the bar eating, chatting and checking mobile phones while we were ignored, we wanted fresh drinks and a dessert but we gave up, paid and left. I was asked if everything was ok and I said only ok and asked if there had been a change of ownership, this met with a No and I was handed the card machine with no further comment or quiery. Sadly, this will Be our last visit for a while as the experience as a whole was poor and I will spend my money where it is wanted and I feel valued! Sad as it was our go to place to eat, Not fancy but good food and great service, all now sadly lacking.
