A friendly restaurant serving Mediterranean food using local seasonal produce, cooked in our open kitchen! Our dishes are prepared to order so we are able to accommodate gluten-free and other dietary preferences.
We booked a table at the Olive Tree as we knew it was a popular restaurant. It was as well that we did: on a wet Thursday evening in October it was full. The menu was predominantly fish although meat and vegetarian dishes were available too, as were pasta dishes and pizzas, which looked good. We went for the catch of the day which was gurnard and it was excellent, as was the whole meal. It was served with a nice mixture of steamed or lightly boiled vegetables. Our starters (Moroccan prawns and smoked haddock) were a delicious start to the meal and the just the right size. The kitchen is at the rear of the restaurant and there is no wall separating it from diners. As we were seated at the back of the restaurant we had a good view of the chefs preparing the meals and they were good-humoured and evidently enjoyed chatting with customers. Service in the restaurant was good too. We did not want a whole bottle of wine but more than one glass each; it was suggested that we buy a bottle and take away the unfinished bottle with us. We appreciated this nice touch. We will certainly go back on a future visit to Bridport.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere as well as great value for money. At West Bay Tea Rooms we celebrate "the cup of tea" and is one of our most loved drinks (the nations too!) which is why you will find a great selection of over 40 different varieties to choose
In an attempt to round out my list of cafes in the Bridport and west Bay Area I finally gave this place a try. It caters for the coach party audience quite well, which I suppose makes sense given itâs location. Iâm pretty sure it was packed with the occupants of the Shearingâs coach outside when I visited - it was packed.Nothing wrong with the sandwich - but I could make similar myself. Itâs a tea room that wouldnât be out of place in the 80s and 90s as the menu would be the same. Nothing wrong with that either but Iâm a bit of a snob these days.So - if you want something âhome madeâ on a wet day in West Bay, you could do worse. But you could also do better.

We have eaten here twice and enjoyed both visits. Sweet little restaurant decorated cosily in the evening, friendly staff and delicious food. Great gin menu too! Food was top notch, presented beautifully and great value for money. We had our birthday meal here after visiting earlier in the month. You can tell who ever is in the kitchen really cares about the dishes they present. We will be going back!

We both stopped in for a breakfast. I had a full English, which consisted of a fried egg, bacon, sausage mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, black pudding and toast. I also had a lovely cappuccino. The breakfast was £8.99 but well worth every penny as it was all cooked to perfection and using fresh local ingredients. Lavazza coffee is used in the cappuccino, delicious. Amazingly friendly people run this place and dogs are allowed with well behaved owners. Will definitely be back.

While stopping in the area we visited for a family meal on our last night of a family holiday. Party included 6 adults 1 toddler and 2 under one year olds. Nothing was too much trouble and we made very welcome and seated in the restaurant. The food was great and all the family enjoyed our evening. We went outside into the garden for coffee and the children enjoyed the small play area. Great evening to end our perfect family holiday in Dorset. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

We are an al fresco café serving breakfast 10.00 - 11.30 am, our main menu until 4.00pm and homemade cakes and cream teas all day. We are licensed and sell local ales and ciders.
We dropped in here for a cup of tea and although it is not the easiest place to find itâs worth persevering. Tucked away on a narrow lane there is no inside seating although some is under cover. We ordered a slice of cake each (Dorset apple cake and fruit cake) which were the most enormous hunks of cake Iâve ever seen! My fruit cake was the best fruit cake Iâve ever had! Friendly staff too and information on each table about how the cafe started and where their ingredients come from (mostly their own farm) which was nice to know. Highly recommended.

Mine Host had his own (unproven) ideas about how to get Steve Smith out, and his Trivia questions were a bit biased, but what a great atmosphere. The food was excellent and well priced, and the staff (including the younger helpers) was A1. Would go back at the drop of a hat!
