Set in a tranquil and stunning location on the banks of the River Trent, The Millstream Bar & Grill At The Priest House's history is a rich one that can be traced back over 1,000 years. Built around a mill tower with its very own water wheels. At The Mill
Afternoon tea was a huge disappointment.total amount of bread used must have amounted to 2 slices.fillings good but then 2 tiny scones followed by 2 ginger biscuits sandwiched together with a cream filling a tiny coconut macaroon a pot of a unusual cream with a strange fruit layer with oats on top and a tasteless piece of cake.oh forgot the sausage roll .very nice but it was also very small.it was supposed to be a tea for two but it was a tea for 1.for £16 you could have had a three course Sunday lunch.so if ever you go there even after reading this review go for that instead of getting ripped of with the cream teaHiMany thanks for leaving us some feedback. I'm really sorry that you were disappointed with your afternoon tea. Normally we get raving reviews. If you are in the area again please contact me directly at the hotel and I will make sure your next visit is up to your expectations ( and ours as well)Gail

We are a traditional village public house and restaurant with bags of character. Offering a wide and varied range of real ales and freshly prepared home cooked food. Meals can even be purchased from our very own Village Shop!!
We came across this pub when our walk was rained off. It was a typical country pub full of people chatting and enjoying themselves but it is obvious that it is also a "proper" restaurant laid for "proper" diners! However, we ate in the pub and the food could not have been any better if we had seated ourselves in the restaurant as it was excellent. They do advise that food is cooked to order and so there may be a wait but the atmosphere in the pub was lively and entertaining so was not a problem for us. This was a good find on a miserable day.

Here for the Oktoberfest awesome steins and range of beers and entertainment, but ate inside and had a delicious sharer board with pork crackling followed by pie and mash and dessert. So full, really enjoyable food and atmosphere, would always recommend this place, Iâve travelled to come to the event because itâs such a great place, and the local area is lovely to stop in too. Weâre really pleased you enjoyed the event and we hope to see you next year. Great to hear that your food was nice aswell.

Attended a meeting in Draycott and we took over the whole place at lunch. The place itself was very quirky and the staff very friendly and courteous. The food was very well presented, tasty and plenty of it!! Seconds if required. It was a very relaxed and comfortable experience and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

We wandered round Shardlow after a coffee in the clock warehouse and eventually came to the malt shovel ready for a sandwich lunch . It was busy maybe due to the lovely Easter weather . The staff are friendly and our food arrived fresh and well presented .

Lovely people but disappointed with the food. Husband had gammon and egg but the eggs were over cooked. The homemade chips were very soggy, so he didnât eat them. I had a Cajun chicken salad, chicken was cooked well but the Cajun spice was a little bland. Having paid almost £11 for the salad I was a little underwhelmed that it was just lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes ( with a little bit of red onion). it would have improved it greatly by adding some more salad veg, peppers, beetroot coleslaw? Anything really to improve on a very basic salad. The music was also very loud.

2nd visit to this rejuvanated pub only called in because we had such a terrible afternoon tea just across the road at the donington manor hotel which I would not recommend. The castle pub is very vibrant and has a good mix of clientele nice selection of beers the food we four had was excellent no complaints from anyone. The young staff are very polite and very hardworking we still didn't see the much admired roof terrace as we were enjoying ourselves in the bar maybe on our 3rd visit we will check it out.I would highly recommended a visit to this lovely pub I just wish I lived nearer.Top Mark's to all the Staff you are very good at what you do.please don't change

Was taken here by colleagues on a rare trip to Castle Donington. Wide menu choice. Was spoilt for choice but settled on a jacket potato and tuna. Was well prepared and still hot when I returned to the office with the take away.Thank you for taking time out of your day to write a lovely review for us, much appreciated!
