Find out what British restaurants to try in Candolim. Candolim is just north of the Mandovi river and is home to Goa's most popular and well known resort and holiday village. As such, it's not a typical backpackers destination. The Candolim beach itself does not have much to offer when compared to its livelier neighbor, Calangute. However, if sunbathing and take the occasional dip is your thing then Candolim will offer you the perfect experience. One of the more interesting sights from Candolim beach is the bulk carrier ""River Princess"" which ran aground 100 metres offshore. While at the Candolim beach do not miss out the Aguada Fort. The fort was built by the Portuguese way back in 1912 for defense against the Dutch and the Maratha invaders. Candolim is aslo a very popular evening destination as it has a number of very good resteraunts and night clubs.

We are open for breakfast /lunch / dinner. Or just sit at the bar or relax in our lounge chairs at the front of the restaurant for drinks and watch the world go by.
Very relaxing atmosphere with excellent food and service. The first time in 3 weeks I was tempted to not eat Indian Food as they have very good European options on the menu. Very good quality food although we felt it was overpriced compared to other place we ate during our stay. Always busy and very popular with Europeans.Thank you so much for your review greatly appreciated.

We visited here having seen it whilst coming up from the beach so decided to give it a go. We weren't disappointed with the quality of service or the food and drinks presented! We both had fish with different sauces and both were beautifully served and cooked. It's a little out of the way to find but worth a visit, unfortunately time went against us for a second visit will definitely come back again next time we are ove.

We did not spend too much time in the restaurant. But the ambiance looks perfect for some drinks and English cuisine. We had few beers and light snacks. The restaurant has good karaoke artists playing every night. Will visit once again for food review.

Closed for monsoon from June 1, 2018 to october 1, 2018... open during tourist season when the monsoon has stopped
We came to Alex shack after hearing all the wonderful reviews. We can not understand why possibly just loyal customers who have not tried else where . The food was terrible the worst we had in any shack, atmosphere lacking with no welcome although the regulars were being attended to . The shack itself is very plain nothing pretty about it to make you want to go either. Was disappointed after the hype we had heard and a few other couples we met in candolim also said same that they had visited and wouldnât return this year . Was a shame. Joanneg184Thank you for your review. However I'm astounded at how you can so easily criticize anything especially opinions of my valuable customers who have come and enjoyed themselves at my shack. They came with no expectations and loved it. And far as the kheema masala and Naan is concerned... I can understand that maybe it wasn't as per your expectations but what I can't understand is when rocky asked you how your meal was, you said that the portions were big. At that time you could have easily said that you didn't like it. My guess is that if you had told us the truth then, you wouldn't have been able to complain about it in your review. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions and to voice them. However I feel that it's not in good taste to generalise about opinions of others regarding my shack. Whether a customer is new or a regular, we always look after them well. It really is a shame that you visited my shack to judge rather than enjoy. All I aim to do is help my customers enjoy their long awaited holiday to the best of my ability... nothing more than that and nothing less.
