What an excellent find of the "beaten track". Inbetween Perth and Dundee is Glencarse and in Glencarse is this hidden "GEM".Fabulous coffee / the Brie, apple & Prosciutto Panini was as good as a sandwich can actually taste. My partner had a deliciously simple egg mayo sandwich YUMMY.But wait for it .....when i say homebaking, i mean OMG mouth wateringly tasty morsels.and they are extremely "friendly dog" friendly. As Arnie said "I'LL BE BACK"worth a wee trip out for a cuppa n cake.Well done guys its so rare to find this kind of place

Visited this restaurant twice over 2 days, staff were very polite and helpful. Menu tho not tho most extensive but more than adequate for our needs (and for an establishment this size)Food was prepared fresh as you waited, which was never too long

We were looking to go somewhere new and decided to head north from our base just outside Cumbernauld having found excellent Tripadvisor reviews on The Roost just a fortnight before - we werenât disappointed. The car park was full but we managed to squeeze in and were warmly welcomed into the small but comfortable restaurant by the excellent staff: Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and no-one was disappointed with anything they ate with the pork belly ribs and the passion fruit bombe getting rave reviews. A truly memorable experience which was well worth the 50 minute drive each way. Thank you.

I mean this as a compliment, so don't you be taking umbrage! The Village Inn has all of the best of a small restaurant that you'd find in England-and I've been to quite a few, with my family. Very cosy, with a welcoming atmosphere and tables filled with families, enjoying its very good menu. Excellent service. I thoroughly recommend it- and the warm Scottish extras gave it the added edge! Long may Pubs like these continue to serve their communities..

Thoroughly enjoyed the steak pie here, was simply delicious and divine!! Was defiantly needed after being on the bus tour for a few hours visiting various parts of fife and what it has to offer. Was very kindly greeted by your waitress meg, she was very attentive, pleasant and I received a 5 star service whilst in this restaurant/pub from her. Very much appreciated and thank you for asking about my trip so far and taking interest in my pictures.

An 18th century coaching inn serving good quality home cooked meals and chargrilled steaks in a traditional beamed ceiling bar or a quieter, family friendly dining room.
We had mothers day lunch at the Strath Tavern on Sunday,I had the fish which i have had many times and this was up to the usual excellent standard. ,My wife and daughter had one of the specials on offer (roast beef and Yorkshires) also excellent. We have eaten here on numerous visits and have never been disappointed with either the quality and variety on offer Thank you very much for your comments. We very much value all of our all of our customers and appreciate the continued support we receive from both regular local residents and visitors alike. I look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

**UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT as of December 2018** Family run pub/restaurant located in a small scenic village surrounded by beautiful scenery. Lunches and evening meals are offered and we cater for small or large parties. Friendly atmosphere and a fine selecti
Really been looking forward to our first meal at the Cycle since under new management so popped in yesterday to check out the menu. Delighted to see my husband's favourite mac cheese and plenty of GF options for me. Called in today to eat and discovered the menu on a Sunday does not have a mac cheese! Disappointed to be told it's been removed for the Sunday roast. When asked if it was possible to have the mac cheese, as it's on the kid's menu, was told there was no mac cheese and only veggie options were a salad (who wants a salad on a cold winters day?) or a nut roast (can't eat nuts). Such a shame we ended up eating elsewhere as we are really keen to support our local pub.

Nice little place up the stairs (as its title hints). Good spot for lunch or coffee and cake. Lots of Outlander references as they obviously used the place when filming in Falkland. I loved the teapot collection. Lentil soup hearty and ideal for a rainy day.
