The Fountain Bar is a lively pub set in the heart of Aberfeldy. Serving food daily from 11am Mon - Fri and 10am Sat and Sun. We welcome families, large groups and anyone looking to enjoy our highly recommended home cooked meals.
Came into the Fountain on Friday 13th but it wasnât bad luck, quite the opposite in fact. The food was delicious. I had a Cajun chicken burger which I thoroughly enjoyed. My friends also enjoyed their mince and potatoes and venison burger. The prices were very reasonable for both food and drink and the pub had great ambience. However,I really have to mention the lovely young lady who served us......Fiona Fernie. She was so helpful, friendly and happy and her service certainly made our evening.Thank you,Fiona.I would heartily recommend this pub!

Small village gastro pub, bistro style, modern feel, interesting and different selection of drinks, fresh food, home made, very comfortable sofa area for coffee, delightful table service, and affordable !
My friends and I had lunch here a few days ago and we were met with the most terrible service. The blonde waitress actually rolled her eyes at our children, did not apologise when my own lunch had been forgotten about (by the time it arrived the adults had finished) and proceeded to slam meals onto the table. The gentleman that greeted us was equally unfriendly and the meal was not enjoyable as a result. Furthermore, the restaurant is not cheap and I would therefore question why it is 'cash only'? Odd in 2019.I`m sorry to hear your didn`t have a great experience with us. I can assure you we take all comments on board, investigate and asses the situation. Like a lot of small businesses we chose to accept cash only policy as to eliminate all issues that come with card transactions e.g. fraud, delays, declined transactions. Most importantly small businesses, like us, choose to operate on cash only basis as to avoid charges that are applied to, not only card terminal rentals, but also each card transaction. With several ATM machines conveniently located around our establishment, as well as directly opposite, we prefer to put that money towards improving our business. I appreciate your feedback and hope you`ll try us again.Kind regards Gosia Zuber

We visited while staying in a cottage a 10 minute drive away and were immediately impressed with the menu options. There were some really interesting main courses listed and my Cullen skink starter and wild boar main were delicious . My daughter found her main course of mussels was slightly spoilt by the overwhelming taste of lemon, with too many large chunks in dish. The restaurant was very quiet when we visited and the interior was a throwback to the 1970s , reinforced by the plate of white sliced bread and butter brought to the table. However, the food was excellent and we would definitely return.

Excellent cafe. Best coffee, great choices of tea, good place for breakfast - only decent place open in the morning for brunch. Highly recommend the coffee & the cakes. Great breakfast menu, very good smashed avocado etc, well worth a visit and itâs pet friendly.

Superb tea room in the wilds of highland Perthshire. Well worth the 60 mile trip from Perth. Scones piled high with proper cream - wonderful!
We visited the tea room before and after a walk in Glen Lyon during which we were able to watch some sheepdog trials. Our second visit was especially good with sandwiches accompanied by crisps and a salad garnish.Friendly and helpful service during which the owner revealed that she hoped soon to be leaving. It was not clear whether the tearoom would continue to operate after that.

My husband and I visited for our tenth wedding anniversary. We wanted somewhere quite special so Thyme seemed the obvious choice. We were greeted immediately and offered to sit in the lounge whilst our table was prepared. The lounge was quite cold, there was a fire which i think given the weather, should've been on. We ordered drinks and had a blether. £8 for a drink with some of the ingredients down the side, probably not ideal but it didn't spoil the actual drink! We ordered our food and were shortly after taken to our table. It was a regret that i didnt wear some sort of thermal clothing- It was freezing. I returned to the coat stand to collect my coat. The salmon starter was lovely, beautifully presented and in keeping with the season. Or waiter, a truly pleasant gent, noticed i had my coat on and put some more logs on the fire. The main courses were good, mine in particular (the tagine), but my husband's steak... the steak attracts a £7 supplement... but was presented in a most average way and the chips were a little cool. I managed to take my coat off but by the time dessert was due to be ordered, it was back on, and staying on. A nearby table was asleep complaining of the cold. Dessert was lovely, although the biscuit left a powdery consistency in our mouths. Im not sure I would be able to recommend a meal like this for £39 per head, nor could i recommend the cocktails at £8 a pop.I was sad not to leave with the satisfaction hoped for when a meal for 2 with one alcoholic drink and one soft drink was just shy if £100. We seemed to switch server during the course of the meal too which was a little confusing. Both servers were pleasant, particularly the gent who brought a smile to our table on more than one occasion.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Delighted to hear that you enjoyed our team's service and that the starters, desserts and your main meal were lovely. We are very sorry to hear an element of the meal was lacking - had we been aware that there were issues with the Steak's chips we would have put this right for you immediately. I am so sorry to hear that the temperature in the dining room was too cool for you despite the log fire and underfloor heating and am glad to hear that John, our Restaurant Mananger, had noticed your discomfort and taken steps to try and improve the situation for you. Guest feedback is always listened to very carefully and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts.

We decided to have a meal at the upstairs restaurant after reading some great reviews and we were not disappointed. There is not one negative comment I can give this establishment and their staff. The food was awesome and itâs faultless cooking by the chef was top class. This restaurant is definitely a place you must visit when in Aberfeldy. What is also brilliant about this restaurant is their staff. The level of customer service is amazing and they are a credit to the owners of this restaurant. The members of staff that looked after us were very friendly and very professional. They created a really nice and relaxing atmosphere for our meal. Please give the chef and your staff a massive thanks and a pat on the back from my wife and I. Thanks for a great meal. Following an excellent mountain safari, we visited the cafe for coffee and cake. My wife is, unfortunately, confined to a gluten free diet but was most impressed by the selection of GF goodies available. She was further impressed by the care taken by the server to prevent any possibility of cross contamination - washed his hands before handling the GF cake chosen, used a dedicated towel and a dedicated knife to cut said cake. (P.S. she says the cake was scrummy!)Thank you so much for taking the time to post this lovely review! We are delighted that you enjoyed both the safari and your coffee & cake in our cafe - we do try to cater for as many food allergies as possible.
