We went in because of the favorable reviews and the good view of the shallow lake behind the restaurant. Clearly locals love it for the food and views but we were disappointed by the food which on the day was inferior. We had a grilled Red fish on a platter with the usual accompanying rice and salad. The fish seemed dry and tasteless as if it had been cooked previously and reheated on the day.not good enough

It remembers me an american bar. It is a place to hang out, to drink and to have fun with friends. Music is good, usually rock, pop. There are some tv showing different kind of games. Although there are more young people, it is good for anyone who likes sports.

I had a great meal, with an excellent Caipirinha here. The restaurants is roofed but no walls so the air flows through it keeping the heat at bay, but without making it cold (ie with aircon). The place was full, families, couples and loners alike were all enjoying themselves from my observation. The service was friendly and helpful though a bit slow/forgetful (!) but once the food was in front of you, all was forgiven. The meat was cooked to perfection, and this, my first, capirinha (Brazilian alcoholic drink) was memorable in size and taste. Across the road there's a shopping centre, but I took a taxi to get me here from Pousada Tayuana (see my review) where I stayed.

Moqueca is a kind of seafood stew cooked in a Brazil Northeastern style. The place is simple and very clean though. Food is plenty and tasteful. If you are in Camacari ( a petrochemical complex) do not miss this restaurant. It is worthwhile dropping by there.

Went there twice during the new-year's holiday, and, at the first time, we couldn't understand the line standing out of the restaurant when we left, by 1pm, since we've eaten a just okay, pricey and really unimpressive fried fish. That interrogation fade away when we came back the next day and tried the shrimp moqueca (it's a typical bahian seafood stew with coconut milk and palm oil). It's been a long time since we've eaten a moqueca as good as Donana's. The shrimp itself was as fresh as it could be; the temperature, perfect; the colour, beautiful. There are other great bahian restaurants around Salvador's metropolitan area, but Donana Villas certainly ranks among the top 5. Once there, go straight to the moqueca and avoid the fried fish.

Restaurante muito organizado, com várias opções de pratos para sua escolha. Atendimento buffet a kilo. Restaurante oferece wi-fi grátis. Comida estilo caseira, com sobremesas muito saborosas. Valeu, e muito, a visita.

This restaurant serves varieties of sun-dried salted beef as its piece-de-resistance. This kind of beef (carne de sol) is typical of the dry, torrid regions of the Brazilian Northeast, where cattle is the main produce. Beef portions are generous, serving more than one single hungry guest and are accompanied by many side-dishes. Among these the delicious milk porridge (pirão de leite) and white beans (feijão fradinho) are an unresistible temptation. Prices are moderate to high. Waiters are kind and the place is comfortable.

Great for a Sunday lunch with family and friends after the beach. Food is good. You can have family style dishes or individual plates. Very nice side dishes. Great value.

Close to Salvador by car north on the estrada de coco, this is a traditional destination that maintains its charm even if newer beach destinations to the north are siphoning away some of the traffic. The restaurant is great place to dine with excellent fish and open to spectacular sea views of waves crashing over the reefWe have dined here twice recently renewing our acquaintance from some decades ago. It is still the top notch restaurant in Arembepe with a wide selection of fish and wine and excellent service. Eating on the verandah deck gives full access to the beach and the water for a dip before or after eating We will be returning as soon as we can

The restaurant is placed on the beach in beautiful Guarajuba near Praia Do Forte. They serve good fish and meat dishes but especially their mouqueca dishes are well known. The prices are a bit high and the portions rather small, but the taste is always very good. We got a fish and prawn moqueca this time and enjoyed it together with very cold beers.
