Friendly and helpful service. Good food at a fair price. Not a lot of wine choice so we had the Belgian beer, very nice.

To end our trip to Mons we went to this restaurant it was recommended by the B&B where we stayed. We enjoyed the food, it was very nice. The owners of the restaurant are French speaking , but I donât understand some words on the menu and they explain it very well.

C'est une brasserie ! et non restaurant ! Une ambiance familial service simple et décontracté , chez nous pas de chichi ce qui nous intéresse c'est la qualité des produits que nous travaillons et pas le camouflage d'assiette sous de beau apparat !
We ate a nice meal and we discovered some fine organic wines. Very interesting. Good atmosphere and friendly service.

Had been here last year and thought it OK - nothing special, but then realised that perhaps I'd been expecting too much, and that 29 euros for a 3 course meal was actually pretty good, so came back with my family for dinner. The starters were all very good and well presented - the charcuterie plate was generous, the egg and asparagus cooked to perfection and the croquettes ...well, not much you can do to make a croquette special, but were perfectly nice. The waiter gave us some story about the steak, about how they had run out of bavette, so were substituting another cut (one which I had never heard of) which he described as like an entrecôte - seemed like an upgrade from his description, so we went for it. Turned out to be something like a small piece of bavette to be honest, and nothing to get excited about, but the fries were good (despite their many underachievements, the Belgians can fry a good potato chip) and the sauce nice and light. One had the veal dish, which was veal strips, and other bits under a large pile of rocket - looked interesting, but tasted ordinary and couldn't quite see the point of the dish, think they could have made something nicer with the ingredients. For dessert we just picked the three on offer and shared them - they were very nice, especially the merveilleux facon, which the waiter made sound like an Eton mess, but was anything but - delicious thin meringue shell with a light vanilla cream, presented precisely and ate very well. And the choc fondant deserves mention too - very good. The wine was a pleasant white, a bergerac, but a touch steep at 27 euros I thought. All in all, despite the mains not being the star of the show, a very reasonable meal, and great value for 29 euros each. I would recommend it and would go back - if you go don't over-expect, after all it's not a michelin starred meal, but then the price is probably less than a starred starter. I think you'd struggle to find better value though, and it's a confident 4/5 from me

The restaurant is not bad. I don't want to say anything like that. On the contrary, I would even say it is a good restaurant, with a friendly staff. However, for a vegetarian person who doesn't like cheese, like me, it is a tough place. This restaurant is especially recommended if you like cheese and if you are a carnivore. My friend wanted to eat here. I agreed, not knowing I wouldn't be able to eat anything at all. Dear Steve, Thank you for your review. As a restaurant specialized in cheese I admit that if youâre not a cheese-lover our menu can not suit you. Thatâs so bad you didnât let us know that because we use to make special dishes for non cheese-lover. We have a lot of vegetarian dishes (for cheese-lover) but we can also adapt our dishes for the other vegetarians ou vegans. For example we always have vegan pastry to adapt all of our burgers for vegetarians. Your review makes me conscious that we should write this in our menu to let everyone know that. Iâm so sorry you didnât enjoy your meal and hope youâll give us another chance.

We went for a late lunch at Maximeâs, the food was great and the service excellent. We have a young baby and itâs not always easy to find somewhere that can accommodate and doesnât mind. The waiter was fantastic, super friendly, polite & great menu knowledge. We ordered the mezze & a mixed grill; so much food, we couldnât finish it. It was lovely and we particularly enjoyed the assortment in the mezze. Excellent afternoon, thank you.

I consider myself a food critic having tried several places in cities across the world. This was a breath of fresh air in every aspect. Food but also service, wine pairing by the glass. I am considering changing my travel plans just to be able to come back. Do not miss it! We got lucky with a walk-in, I would recommend making a reservation. Enjoy!

Cocotte, a modern canteen and âtable dâhoteâ proudly offering set menus featuring foods that are sustainable, seasonal and regional. The > Concept: Our menu changes daily and is inspired by products that are at their seasonal best. > After Work: In additi
The facade is nondescript; if you aren't looking you can easily miss it. But once inside, you are in for a treat. The concept is interesting. A small plate of appetizers is brought to you then you help yourself to one of two dishes, one vegetarian and the other with meat, which are served alongside a starch. The menu changes daily and the lunch price of 14 euro is a steal. Will definitely return.
