FRESH FRESH FRESH that's the credo of Restaurant Meat Factory in Antwerp, located on the Grand place, right in the Centre of this beautiful city. MEAT the name says it all, at Meat Factory, there are several meat dishes on the menu. A true paradise for al
Waiters were very attentive to us (they suggested us to take off our jacket, asked if everything was fine, etc.). The food was tasty but not enough potatoes with the burgers (could be enough for non starving people). We didn't waited the time for a long time.Well located (in the grote markt), and very cosy restaurant (not to big like canteens). Toilets were cleaned.I really recommend it.Bedankt voor de toffe recensie! We doen ons uiterste best om iedereen zo goed mogelijk te bedienen en zijn blij te horen dat u alles goed vond! Tot de volgende keer! Julien Meat Factory

Small restaurant with typical Belgian cuisine. Since it is just husband (cook) and wife (service) : Reservation required.
A group of four of us were visiting Antwerp and were told this was a nice place for food. We walked to the restaurant and arrived at 11:55 noticing the place was dark and no one was inside. We weren't sure if for some reason it was closed (perhaps a private party?) but as it was so close to opening we waiting outside for the remaining five minutes. At noon a woman opened the door and immediately had a frown on her face. We smiled and asked if they were serving lunch. She immediately became agitated and asked if we had reservations (no), how many seats we needed (4 - no way!) and scolded us that we should of called for reservations. The issue isn't that they couldnt accommodate us - it was the response. Surely this business has had others attempt to walk in and get a seat, no? Not to mention that, as the restaurant was literally shut down, I'm not sure how we could of secured a reservation to begin with. If you don't have any availability that's fine... a simple not today would suffice vs. admonishing us on the street. The above doesn't really do justice to the interaction. The lady was just downright rude. Please look at my other reviews because you can see that I do not have a history of making negative reviews for trivial issues - this might be my first 1 or 2 star review. Maybe this lady was just having a rough day but no matter what I wouldn't return regardless of how good the food is.Hello,I'm sorry you feel like I was being rude. I just told you we didn't have a table for 4 since they were already booked. You looked really surprised and asked if you could do 2 tables of 2, on which I replied that wouldn't be possible because there is only 1 person in the kitchen and 1 doing service and we don't want people to have to wait too long and that can happen if everybody comes at noon together. It's just how we try to run our restaurant efficiently. We always start in the morning to do preparations but we turn on the light when we open because otherwise people could be confused if we are open or not.I really don't think I scolded at you or neither was I agitated. We are just a very small business and places are limited so making a reservation can assure you of a table. You can call or email for reservations. (link on tripadvisor)Regarding your friend writing a review on Google saying there was nobody inside, like you said, I just opened the door. I was expecting a table of 4 at 12, 4 at 12.15 and 3 tables of 2 at 12.30. Often this are business people who don't have a lot of time so we limit our tables during lunch. It is a shame you had to write a review about something that could have been avoided if you just made a reservation. Kind regard, Nathalie

we went to morso for a nice dinner and were welcomed really friendly by the attentive staff. Throughout the evening, there was a serene atmosphere even though the street nearby was relatively busy. We were able to watch the sunset from our seats outside and the waiters were all very likable :)

Superb dining. Absolutely worth mentioning!!!
We celebrated a family event here, and had a fixed meal option, which was adapted to the dietary needs of two of the participants. The restaurant is run by a couple, and we were geven an excellent service. Beautifully presented dishes, excellent food. Modern interior, lovely garden for the Summer. The only minus is the location away from the city centre.

Gastronomy Lunch menu 2 or 3 cours Only Menu 4 or 5 cours
If your restaurant is nr 1 on trip advisor you can expect some critical guests and on our visit we were certainly not convinced it deserved this titel. We were here on a saturday night with some friends. We were invited in friendly and the service itself was very good except for the timing (see later). There is only a choice in 4 or 5 course menu with optional cheese. We opted for 4 and cheese added (cheese to replace desert is also possible) so in total we still had a 5 course meal. When we refused the wine pairing (this time mainly because we had to drive home after) we had a first sign that they did not like it. We chose a bottle of our own and than experienced this : the first two courses came fluent and then we had to wait an hour before the main arrived and only after i asked why it took so long ? Meanwhile they emptied our bottle very quickly into our glasses hoping that we were to order a new one. But we had decided it in advance to keep alcohol very low that evening. SInce it was a white wine and we were waiting to finish it with our main course and the hour waiting time our wine was warm when it finaly arrived. The cheese and dessert arrived then straight after meaning we had to eat the three last courses in half an hour time. It all felt a bit strange this timing and attitude altough i never had the feeling they disliked us, it was just that feeling of not doing what they expected that sent us home with a bad taste. Concerning the food it was good but to us experienced michelin stars eaters nothing came exciting some parts on the plates were even lacking of flavour, so on that part you can have a good plate of food but nothing worth to drive 100 km like we did for it.This is one i will not return to.

The specialty of this restaurant is meat which is prepared on ' the Big Green Egg ', a 3000 year old clay oven.
We went there with reservation for a Friday evening. This is a casual midrange steakhouse but costs more like fine dining. It was not busy when we arrived at 8 PM but gradually the restaurant filled with only a few empty places. The meat options arrive with one of the partners of the restaurant and he explains them to us. The price is per person and varies depending on steak. We opted for the Australian ribeye at his recommendation despite me eyeing the more expensive Irish Tomahawk steak. We ordered a bottle of 'Enemigo mio' which was a delicious pairing. We also had an order of bitterballen which is a crispy fried crumb exterior surrounding a very hot beef filling. The steak arrives sliced with a small portion of fried vegetables and a bearnaise sauce and peppercorn sauce. This is accompanied by two bowls: one of frites (of course!) and the other of a mixed green salad. Overall we enjoyed the meal and service and would recommend.

We stayed from twelve until four in the afternoon, and our three kids have been attended to all the time. We had time to eat with our friends, while the kids eat upstairs and played all along. Service is very good, so friendly :) .A bit pricey, but worth it. We'll definitely go back!
