There are two hotels near by- El Nogales and Hotel Rural.Both very charming being surrounded by panoramic views- just like La Barrica.Rustic Canarian, large dining area set up to cater large parties... rather dark and colder compare to busier bar area.Menu is simple (also in English), ingredients are fresh, and the wood grill meat was fantastic!We thoroughly enjoy wood grill as preference to cook out meat and have sampled many rural restaurants in the South. This has been the best wood grilled meats we have tasted, by far! The aroma of the wood is fully incorporated into the meat itself but both chicken and my thick entrecot was so tender and juicy at Medium, it melted in my mouth. Believe me, the 2 large pieces (about 8oz. each) was completely gone off my plate! So glad we stopped by to have this true wood grill experience like no other!They accept c/c and open till 10pm.

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant.We reside in the Golf del Sur area when we are on our holidays and make sure that we visit this fantastic restaurant which is only a 20 minute drive away.From the moment you walk in the door Juan Carlos and his wife ensure you of a very warm welcome. Ricardo the proprietor and chef always comes out from the kitchen to welcome us.The other members of the kitchen team always give a little wave.Now onto the amazing food.Every single dish is served like a masterpiece. Great care is taken in its presentation.Every dish is served on a different style and shape of plate.The flavours of every dish has had a great deal of thought put into it.Our favourite dishes are the prawns on a banana and lime chutney, The pork chop ( the biggest we've ever seen ) and the pork medallions .Everything is cooked to perfection.The fact that this lovely hidden gem is packed out with locals dining here tells you how good this restaurant is.We can't wait to return next May. Was really looking forward to experiencing the food here, the resaurant is quaint and lots of locals dine here so has to be good right ?? How wrong can you be.... had a table close to the open kitchen door quite fascinating watching the meat being cooked over the wood fire bbq, then take a closer look cross contamination at its best !! the chef was handling raw meat, cooked meat, fish, rabbit, salad all with the same pair of gloves on and using the same knife OMG i couldnt believe it by the time i witnessed the appaulling hygiene practices we had been served our food and while it looked ok the steaks were very tough. not a place i would revisit

Fabulous recommendation from TripAdvisor! Hubby and I enjoyed hot bread rolls with delicious (generous) dips, black pudding, garlic mushrooms, House Salad, T-Bone steak, grilled chicken with fried onions, mouth-watering chilled beers (in iced pint glasses) and chilled white wine (in iced terra-cotta jug), leche-leche & an espresso - â¬59 Euros - FABULOUS (though we had no idea the portions were going to be so abundant and ordered much too much for 2 people!)! ..oh, and we got complimentary liquors to finish. Food, drink, service & ambience SUPERB. A definite âmust go toâ in Tenerife (â¬8 each way in a taxi from Playa Paraiso). Thank you La Ganania- what a wonderful experience.
