While on a road trip, I had a craving for some bbq. Saw a bunch of signs and decided to stop here as I was getting hungry. I ordered just the pulled pork sandwich to go. The sandwich was an ok size and came with a side of sauce. After the first bite I ended up pouring the rest of the sauce on the sandwich as it was lacking flavor. I guess Iâm used to the pulled pork full of sauce and flavor. This was an ok stop for a quick bite.

Traveling through Tifton, we stopped at this nicely-rated wood fired grill and were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. We had chicken tortellini and barbecue chicken and both were excellent. Our server, Shelby, made us feel very welcome. We will stop here again and highly recommend this local spot.
Visiting the area for business and clients treated us to a very enjoyable dinner at Hawk-Eye BBQ which they described as a "local hole in the wall". Their aim was to allow me and my coworker (from "up north") to try some local food. I selected a garden salad, the grilled catfish fillet, fried pickles, and hush puppies. Our clients insisted we also try cheesy grits so we each added this additional side order to our meal. My favorite thing was the fish. It was really outstanding. Very fresh and seasoned and grilled perfectly. I also really liked the fried pickles. My coworker tried the fried pickles as well and commented that fry batter was much lighter than expected, more like a potato chip. I agree. I admit I have had regular grits and am not a fan so I had some reservations about the cheesy grits but after salting them I found them surprisingly good. Clients ordered some slices of chocolate and strawberry cake for dessert. I tried both and I liked the strawberry best. Also notable, the ranch dressing that I ordered with my salad was better than average and I'm told is also commonly used as a dip for the fried pickles, which I tried and found good. Overall a wonderful experience in every way (food, service, etc). Note that this restaurant is small with an informal diner-like atmosphere. Our clients say that it gets very busy (and it definitely did while we were there) so go early to avoid the wait. Also of note, our clients mentioned that some menu items are only available on Thursday & Friday.
