We couldn't get enough of this place. Fantastic brisket and an exceptional potato salad. Our disappointment at finding the place closed one day during its regular business hours is the only reason I'm not giving the highest review. But that won't keep us away when we next visit Horseshoe Bay; we're hooked!

Bought Brisket, Turkey Sausage, and a pint of Sauce. Took it all to-go. The turkey sausage is very lean. I think it is especially good with the sauce. Brisket was tender, almost to the falling apart stage, but not quite. A sign said ribs Wednesday, But this was Thursday so I can't report on those yet.

It was our first day in Lago Vista for our month long stay and it was pouring rain! We thought we'd try this and were not disappointed. It is not huge but quaint and easy to get in and out. You order at the counter and the menu choices were plenty. We both had their eggs, beans and potatoes with tortillas and the eggs were prepared to order, the bean tasty and the potatoes perfect! Coffee was good and service friendly and quick. We will be back again!

For those who need a quick BBQ fix, R.O.'s Outpost is the place. The walkup trailer is a no frills establishment with limited outside seating and little shade. The sliced beef sandwich and chips satisfied the hunger craving just don't expect much from the side dishes. It's a fast food type of place that deserves a try when time is an issue and BBQ is a must.
First time in got the chopped BBQ sandwhich. Was really good and price was not bad either. Got grandson the hamburger. Surprisingly, he did not care for the smoked taste Hamburger and requested the BBQ sandwhich next go around.

LUNCH AND DINNER, Casual Dining for individual, family or business mtgs. Hours of operation are 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday and 11:00 through 2:00 PM on Saturday. "Fall Apart", Pecan Smoked Brisket, Marinated Boneless Chicken Breast, Sausage
Take the effort to find Holy Smokes by heading off the main drag. Expect real BBQ,generous portions and smoking good flavor. The chopped brisket sandwich and Noahâs salad were outstanding and served promptly. Itâs plain decor inside and out hides the great food awaiting you. BTW- The pinto beans are amazing. Will return for more BBQ and next time will have one of the homemade desserts.

We stopped here originally when it opened and were underwhelmed. Came again on Motherâs Day, it was the least crowded restaurant in the area and the only place we could get into without a long wait and no reservation. The service was extremely slow. The food was very average, bbq for Texas was below average and no standard sauce on the table and the molasses and mustard sauces were not very good. It probably took 45 minutes for food to come out. Some was lukewarm. Extremely disappointing. There is no reason for this poor service and cold food when it comes to people ordering straightforward bbq.

The Hill Country's best BBQ! Beer and wine sold. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dine in or drive through!
Lunch time visit. Our friends recommended this place. Small cafe, customer places order of plate with sides or sandwich. Condiments are on a side table. Drinks are obtainable from machine. There is a rumor that Willy Nelson eats here.

Everything was as promised; wonderful. An excellent selection of sides (including their famous tater tot casserole, pinto beans, cobblers, and seldom seen butter beans.). Their meat selection was similarly diverse. Brisket (wet or lean), baby back ribs, beef ribs, pork belly, pork loin, chicken, sausages, etc. My wife deemed it the best beef rib she's ever had, and also commented that the chicken was some of the moistest smoked bird she's tasted.I also have to give a shout-out to the staff, who were super friendly and informative to this first time customer. They give good information on all the options and walk you through the broad array of items. You order meats by the pound or half pound, but they didn't balk at letting us try even smaller amounts. We were made to feel as welcome and at home as they seasoned veterans around us. Go early if you want the beef ribs, those sold out fast on both our visits. Its about 40 minutes out of Austin. The first half is a bit traffic, but then you get out into the hill country a bit more and its a pleasant drive.
