Pat's Barbecue offers award-winning ribs, pulled pork, chicken, burnt ends, and other southern comfort foods for dine-in or take out in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I have eaten at Pats a lot. And I have reviewed a few times. Their menu has changed a little lately.. not the items but the way to order them. I like the old way better, but it isn't a deal breaker. It also seems like there is less live music than previously offered. Parking still a challenge during busy meal periods.

Sugarhouse Barbeque Company Salt Lake City Good Barbarque at SugarHouse BBQ in Salt Lake City, UT 662791885 On our first visit to SugarHouse BBQ, we weren't sure what to expect. This place is in a redwood-painted building with off-street free parking. It's in a high traffic neighborhood, so we were happy to find that spaces (including handicapped, which we used) were available when one eats early. The ramp into the building and its lack of steps make it handicapped-friendly.I often go for ribs when in the mood for BBQ, as I did on our visit. My husband had the chopped pork sandwich. Both of us were happy with our selections, except that the portions are so big. I had the choice of their Gumbo as a side and opted for it. Having spent time in New Orleans and learned to make Gumbo at home, I was delighted to see theirs is authentic. They alternate with Red Beans and Rice, Etouffee, and Gumbo on any day, so we got lucky it was a Gumbo day. I'm sure their other Cajun dishes are authentic and good too, although I haven't yet tried them. This restaurant serves a wide variety of BBQ meats-brisket, chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken wings, and smoked turkey breast. They have appetizers and salads, sides (like their Cajun rotation dishes, mashed potatoes with gravy, etc.), sandwiches, light combos (like Dixie Chicken, Smoked Platter, etc.), Add- ons (like single chicken wing, extra sauce, 12 oz bottle of any sauce, etc.), kid's menu (like 1 corn dog + 1 side)., desserts (like pecan pie, bread pudding sundae, brownie sundae, etc.,). We were so full from the dinner that we opted not to eat dessert. As far as sauces are concerned, the most often selected one is sweet and smoky. Other choices are: the BBQ described above, Carolina Pig, Mustard, Louisiana Hot Sauce, and Ranch Dressing. SugarHouse BBQ's hours are: Sunday, 12-8 PM, Mon-Thurs. 11: 30 AM-9 PM, Fri and Sat 11: 30 AM- 19 PM. They take reservations, have take-out, deliver (pricey), and cater. Beverages include alcohol, sweet tea, iced tea, bottled water, and various sodas. For greater details, visit their website

No matter what you eat you will not leave hungry. The portions are large and you can get way with the mini versus the regular for most dishes. The menu is simple Hawaii comfort food. Chick Katsura, great pulled pork, shrimp rice salad and some killer macaroni salad
