While working in Portugal I looked this place up on TripAdvisor. Decided to give it a try. Firstly we were glad to find it open as some restaurants close early out of season. Secondly we were welcomed by the friendly owners. Although my Portuguese is sadly not very good also the hosts English enough to get us by in ordering a fabulous meal for 2 bbq beef and pork skewer. Accompanied with chips, salad and rice and a nice garlic and herb dip. We followed this up with a chocolate dessert where upon its arrival the gentleman that cooked us our food brought a bottle of port out and poured us a glass each. Good hospitality, good food and a very reasonable bill made for a nice evening.
We regularly go to this place whilst on holidays. There was a change of owners. The grilled meat is always great, the place itself hasnât changed. The dishes are probably a little less appetising and good than previously but it remains a place with good food for good value. I do think that people who have take away should queue together with people who eat there so everyone gets to help themselves in order of arrival. Once a lady cut the queue because apparently she was having take away, but this meant she could take the last of a particular dish.

This restaurant does exactly what it should do and therefore I give it 5 stars, because itâs not pretending to be something it isnât. Recommended by a local friend, Uta stuck at the back of a holiday park. Starters are pretty irrelevant (prawns, olives, etc) and expensive. Instead, just get locally caught fresh fish for main. We had 2 sea bass for EUR 18, grilled on charcoal with salt and oil. Nothing more. One of the best Iâve ever eaten in any restaurant anywhere in the world. No âdecorâ, no fancy service. Just fish and seafood. What a delight.

After finding our regular churrasqueira closed last night, we decided to go searching for this place (which we have tried to find a couple of times). My boyfriend and I were the only diners in the restaurant for the first 15mins but it was full when we left. On arrival we were directed to choose between two tables set up for two people, one directly under the serving counter and one up against the door, we opted for the later which meant that the door hit the back of my boyfriends chair every time somebody entered the restaurant. Our waitress was pretty brash and didnât waste any time on pleasantries. We werenât expecting silver service but neither did we expect to be made to feel uncomfortable. After ordering, our food arrived to our table within 5 minutes and I noticed that this was consistently the case with other groups. The portion was large but lacking in quality, fatty ribs, greasy fries and overly oily rice. We were hungry and finished most of our food and then waited for about 15minutes for the bill. The restaurant was very busy buy this point but there was a distinct lack of attentive service.Itâs a real shame as we were desperate to love this place as an alternative to our regular spot. unfortunately it fell short of expectations and itâs unlikely we will return in a hurry.

Warm space with good food. Food prepared by a renowned chef. Grilled chicken, ribs, kebabs and other dishes available.
Ok so I will start off by saying I'm not a Frango Assado expert by any means. In fact, I've only ever had nando's Portuguese chicken. On the flip side I've eaten anything and everything from my travels around the world and this is some of the best BBQ chicken I've ever had. There was six of us and we found a table in this tiny restaurant / take out spot. We ordered six chicken dinners and that was a mistake! We could have eaten four between the six of us as they come with a half chicken, rice, fries and a few olives for good measure! The staff don't speak much English but the menu is in English and Portuguese so you can always point to what you want! The staff are friendly and the place is busy with locals. Thankfully we went 'early' and it only took 20mins for our food.

First visit to this restaurant which is off the beaten track so you would need to know where you were going. We were a group of 12 and they opened in the evening especially for us (apparently not open in the evenings during the winter). We shared a squid dish to start which was very tasty but not really enough for the amount of people. We each chose our fish - I had sole and it was cooked beautifully and was very tasty, if a bit salty. Served with tasty baked potatoes and salad. I had almost finished my meal before the last person was served though and I don't think this is acceptable. The staff were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I found it a little bit on the expensive side and not sure I would come back.
