The food at this little quaint local trattoria was a great surprise. It was home made, fresh and beyond tasty. Traveling all around italy and this region, this restaurant was by far the best in terms of local home made food. The service was friendly and on a busy Sunday they were wonderful. The set menu is the way to order, it is outstanding and if there were more than five stars to award I would. If you are traveling around this region of Italy it is a must do. Reasonably priced, and the deserts are over the top. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Although far from the typical touristic routes, if you can stretch your visit until there it'll pay off the effort. Half an hour from Bologna and Ferrara (it's actually in between the two cities) the restaurant does not look fancy, but it offers a wide variety of fish of the highest quality and perfectly cooked. From the fried to the baked, from pasta to the mussels soup (please try that!) everything is so delicious that you'll want to return a second and a third time (my family and I come back for every birthday or family reunion)Don't expect the most high class of service but rather a friendly chat with the waiters (who rarely speak English unfortunately) that will make your meal even more enjoyable.

Over 2 weeks in this wonderful country and on our last night, happened upon this restaurant as our agriturismo was nearby. We were welcomed with personalized service that made us feel as though we were visiting someone at their home. As they made the pasta, we drank their home-made prosecco and when the appetizers were done and the main courses arrived, we were suitably impressed with our meal. There's a lot to like about this "restaurant", from the friendly service that aims to please to the food (obviously) and the setting -a private-feeling enclave with a gorgeous patio and old country restaurant inside big, and there are a few chickens running about as well, adding to the "this is going to be really fresh and really home made" vibe. It was an experience more than just a meal and I'd recommend it to anyone who identifies with the story above.
