My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. We reside in the Golf del Sur area when we are on our holidays and make sure that we visit this fantastic restaurant which is only a 20 minute drive away. From the moment you walk in the door Juan Carlos and his wife ensure you of a very warm welcome. Ricardo the proprietor and chef always comes out from the kitchen to welcome us.The other members of the kitchen team always give a little wave. Now onto the amazing food.Every single dish is served like a masterpiece. Great care is taken in its presentation.Every dish is served on a different style and shape of plate. The flavours of every dish has had a great deal of thought put into it.Our favourite dishes are the prawns on a banana and lime chutney, The pork chop ( the biggest we've ever seen ) and the pork medallions .Everything is cooked to perfection. The fact that this lovely hidden gem is packed out with locals dining here tells you how good this restaurant is.We can't wait to return next May.

Was really looking forward to experiencing the food here, the resaurant is quaint and lots of locals dine here so has to be good right ?? How wrong can you be.... had a table close to the open kitchen door quite fascinating watching the meat being cooked over the wood fire bbq, then take a closer look cross contamination at its best !! the chef was handling raw meat, cooked meat, fish, rabbit, salad all with the same pair of gloves on and using the same knife OMG i couldnt believe it by the time i witnessed the appaulling hygiene practices we had been served our food and while it looked ok the steaks were very tough. not a place i would revisit

We heard about this restaurant from a fellow traveler. It is huge restaurant, located in a plantation. They grow plantain (like banana). if you are in south side of Tenerife Island, this is a must visit. Music and food are great. They give you generous portions of food, almost enough to satisfy 2 hungry persons with one meal. If you go early during daylight time, you can get a free tour of their plantain. Prices are reasonable by American standards. Meals for 4 people with non-alcoholic beverages was less than 100 Euro. this is a great family restaurant. there are no buses or public transportation nearby. But, cab rides from hotels in the south side of Island can be only about 15 to 20 Euro which is not bad. They have a band that can help you serenade your special some one. After the meal they give you a few plantain as gift.

We visited El Rancho de Nino after reading the comments on TripAdvisor and the comments were right. This restaurant was the traditional Canarian restaurant that you used to see everywhere in Tenerife but no longer do.The staff are friendly, the restaurant is huge & unpretentious and the food is amazing! I much prefer El Rancho de Nino to the much more publicised restaurant next door (Xanadu). We had rabbit, goat meat and pork steak and all were just as delicious as the other. All the meals were grilled or cooked to perfection. The only odd thing is the salad which is tomato, onion & avocado and thatâs it. But to be honest the rest was so lovely that we didnât really eat all the salad. As Iâm confined to a wheelchair we always have issues in getting into restaurants and also with accessible bathrooms. El Rancho is great for wheelchairs and thereâs also an accessible toilet as well with a ramp up to it.I would definitely come back again in the future and would recommend it to anyone. If youâre looking for a five star restaurant with plush surroundings then this isnât the place for you. If youâre not fussy about the surroundings but are wanting a five star meal then definitely make the trip to El Rancho!
