Stopped for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Large servings, friendly staff and good BBQ. They make some of their own sodas there and sell them by the jug. I had brisket tacos and husband had sandwich called chop chop; brisket and sausage. Both were 5.99 with 2 sides. A definite bargain.

It isn't fancy but the food is surprisingly good. I had a beef BBQ plate and the meat was very tender and tasty. The service and the price was good.
Reading a Review earlier reminded me I had Iet time get away from me (meaning I forgot) on posting about our visit to The Rack (3817 Hwy 35 S, Rockport) last Sunday afternoon! Lots of reviews on The Rack..some really positive, some not so much, but I think itâs one of those places everyone should give it a try! Based on one review (Jerry Russell?) I had the Club, omg, absolutely delicious, one of the best Iâve had! The fries were delicious as well, not the run-of-the-mill garden-variety! Hubby had the Wings, his comment, âHmmm, kinda dry but the beer sure is cold, potato salad Okâ. The Owner, Tawni, came over to talk and it was a nice and interesting conversation! She takes very much to heart the comments she reads, giving her perspective, and it is obvious she is working very hard to make the restaurant successful. She does have others in the state! Miranda was our server, well mannered and extremely attentive, making sure of our needs and if everything tasted OK! I think this is just one of those restaurants that everyone needs to give it a try, this was our first visit and definitely one that we will come back to!
I stopped in on a Monday afternoon to have a barbecue sandwich. I asked the server, who was quite friendly, how fresh the brisket was. She said it was from the weekend. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with fries. I received a good portion of chopped brisket on a hamburger sized bun.I was quite disappointed that the brisket, although tender, was soaked in sauce. Sauce should be an option as most Texas barbecue is not sauced. It is a good way to hide the quality of the meat. Also, every other bbq place that I have eaten at, and I have eaten at very many all across the country, has onion and pickles on the side. Not here. The fries were standard frozen fries which were ok. I will not be returning for a second try as I feel that the product was not worth the price.
