Visited recently while in Alvor and not disappointed. You have to go early as you can't book. You will probably be seated next to someone else but that adds to the fun and you meet some nice people. My wife had the seabass and as usual I had the piri piri. Both were excellent and the seabass was a good size. Lots of locals and we had a lovely evening. The seabass was 12 euros and the piri piri 9 euros with the total bill for the food, a half litre of red and a pint cane to 35 euros - good value. If you like chicken piri piri and fish, you can't go wrong.

grill restaurant with the best Portuguese piri piri chicken. tel +351 282 412 742
This restaurant is really noisy, full of local Portuguese families chatting and enjoying food together. The waiters shout the orders across the dining area. The tables cloths are paper. The food is served piled high on uninteresting plates. Would I go again....Oh Yes The food is delicious. Really really good. I didnât see any menus. Itâs chicken or chicken. Chips/rice and salad. Itâs not high end or smart but itâs where to go for Piri Piri at its best.

The Chicken Tavern is a traditional Portuguese Restaurant with a twist, we offer a range of food from our delicious Piri Piri, to gorgeous steaks, lamb, huge mouth watering skewers, and even spicy beanburgers for the non meat lovers. With beautiful decor,
Couldn't fault The Chicken Tavern. Food was topclass , with a good selection of dishes to try. Visited twice and between us tried 8 different main meals and everyone agreed that they were good. Would have visited more but we only discovered it 3 days before we left for home. Rustic decor , lots of local customers and very likeable staff. Couldn't recommend enough. Well worth the lengthy walk from where we stayed.

Le Paradis restaurant is a 30th year well know restaurant in the area, serving specially grilled meat and fish. We provide a private parking place and a playing ground for children.
We had an excellent meal lovely spicy fish soup. Garlic prawns with orange sauce. Six lamb chops. All well cooked served by delightful intelligent young lady who ran down the street in pursuit of us when one of our party (me) left his jumper behind . Too many mojohito's me thinks Bill reasonable. Will return to try the aged beef. Catch of the day looked good when bought out for client selection

Excellent grilled fish
We've reviewed this restaurant twice before and were looking forward to eating here again this year. It was even better than we remembered. I always order grilled Sea Bass and it is as good as it gets here. Beautifully crispy on the outside and soft and flavoursome on the inside. All this from a charcoal grill, amazing! My wife was equally enthusiastic about the Monkfish Kebab. All this can be had with wine and beer for around £45.00. Fantastic value. Service is friendly and attentive, and they always remember you when you return the next year.

My wife and I recently spent 16 wonderful days in Ferragudo, this being our 5th time in the past decade that we have visited this wonderful fishing village. Each time we visit, it is an absolute must to make at least two bookings at the most popular restaurant in Ferragudo. Like our experiences in previous years, we again have experienced wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. During our two visits, we decided to sit outside. During our fist visit, my wife and I shared the the monkfish cataplana; absolutely delicious. During our second visit, my wife had the pork scallops with cream mushrooms while I had the bar-b-que spare port ribs which were some of the best tasting ribs I have every experienced. The service was very professional, friendly and efficient as well as the wonderful ambience. While we were sitting outside during our two hour dining experience, my wife and I probably counted at least 20 people or more who were turned away because they did not have reservations. This happened not only on our visit visit but also on on second visit. If you plan to come to Ferragudo for a week or less, it is highly recommended that you make reservations prior to your arrival, otherwise, you may find yourself one of those 20 people turned away at the door.
