was staying at a nearby hotel and needed a place for lunch. found Ola Hawaiian BBQ on a whim for hawaiian food. located in a strip mall so look for their name on the mall's signage on the west side of placentia ave. The service was friendly and helpful. when questioned about the difference in the bbq chicken vs the teriyaki chicken was told there was only a subtle difference and that was, indeed, correct. we ordered a family meal plus 2 orders of the fried shrimp. also purchased some large sodas (good deal) to feed 5 adults. we took it back to eat by the pool of the hotel and there was so much food that we couldn't finish it all. everything remained hot in the containers and there was alot of chicken and beef. the consistency of the rice was perfect and i liked the macaroni salad very much. it was helpful that they provided extra plates and utensils as well as plenty of sauces. i would not hesitate to visit again, good eats and reasonable pricing for all the food you do get.

Not to be stereotypical, but this BBQ primarily caters to carnivorous meat-eaters with large appetites, who are usually the male members of the party. The last time I ate here I had the pulled pork, but it was way too much food for me. So I was happy to see a BBQ chicken salad on the menu. I wasn't too sure about the dressing, but thought I would give it a try. I LOVED it! I appreciated that the salad was made using field greens rather than iceberg or romaine lettuce. Field greens are my favorite greenery for an entree salad. I even had room for my hubby's cornbread - yummy - and a bunch of his BBQ rubbed french fries, which were very tasty. One thing to keep in mind: this place has a variety of craft beers on tap, so don't go in expecting to find you favorite store bought bottled brew (e.g., Corona, Stella Artios).

Came here for dinner with a friend. I ordered the beef ribs and my friend had the tri-tip.My friend said her trip-tip was very good and would order it again. My ribs however were a disappointment. There was very little meat on them. Of the five ribs I got, only one was what I would call passable. We did like the sides however - braised greens, mac & cheese, bbq beans. We had a nightcap at the bar before we left. When it comes to bourbon and rye whiskey, they have a better than average selection. They even offer flights of whiskey.

We chose Leadbellys cause we wanted BBQ and someplace close to where we were staying. Having no preconceived notions we hopped over and found its spot in one of the thousands of ubiquitous strip malls in SoCal. The first thing you are struck with is the potpourri of "things" that decorate the place. It's more old vibe and it works. They make great use of a sideboard and have items up on the walls. We were doing take-out but while we waited for our food you can't help but take in the decor. We opted for the 3-choice smoked meat platter that come with some sides. Our choices were the ribs, brisket and chicken. The ribs and brisket were very good whereas the chicken was too dry for our liking. Corn bread and slaw were our sides and we liked them. Since we were doing take-out our interaction with the staff was minimal so there are no negatives there. We also went early PM so we knew there wouldn't be any crowds yet. If we are back in the area and have a hankering for BBQ we'll definitely remember Leadbellys.

We drove a little out of the way for some excellent BBQ...the kids had ribs, my husband and I had BEAUTIFUL salads with what tasted like homemade dressing and some sort of French fry mod podge of beans, brisket, cheese and deliciousness. The service was top notch and our next visit to Cali will include âBLAKEâSâ.

We had the $24.99 dinner buffet. Waited 1 hour 15 minutes at about 5:30 pm Saturday. Service and sides were very good. Different beef selections were all tough and some sinewy and grisly. Baby squid and shrimp were fresh, but shrimp were small. Very loud.
