Piatti tipici toscani aperto anche a pranzo
Of course this is the "farmer's restaurant." They always know where to eat best. Here the quality of the ingredients is exactly what one expects of southeastern Tuscany--local, fresh, genuine. The quality of cooking, the same--handmade pasta, desserts, meat butchered on the premises and grilled to perfection. It's simple, country food done simply, and it is so, so much better than most anything one finds elsewhere.Having eaten here many times over the past 10 years, I would say that it's better now than ever and that it shines in the wintertime. Sitting near the open fire pit, drinking a young local red wine and satisfying your hunger pangs with the amuse-bouche of warm pates and spreads with crusty bread, before digging into a heaping plate of hand-rolled pici with wild boar sauce is a dining experience that's hard to top anywhere.Stefano and his hard-working staff are lovely and kind. Definitely book a table at The Contadino--You'll eat like a farmer, born with a silver spoon in his mouth!

This cafe located behind a petrol station doesn't look very inviting but the food is honest, good and the welcome friendly. There is a board of daily specials where you can have a plate of pasta followed by a meat course for just 10 euros, vegetables, drinks and table charge not included. I had a huge (and I mean huge) chicken salad for 7 euros, my husband had a plate of pasta with ragu followed by a large pork chop (cooked on the open fire at one end of the room special, 1/2 ltr of wine, 2 coffees and a cake and we had change from 25 euros. There is an outside space, under a tent , where smoking and dogs are permitted.Fridays expect a fish menu and It does open in the evenings. There have been specialty nights serving Mexican etc but the best food is Italian. The downsides are that is on the forecourt so traffic noise is very audible, it does get very busy with workers coming for lunch and its not that big a place so it gets full quickly.

Its always a good sign where you're the only tourist in the place. They serve pretty good steaks and sausages - cooked perfectly. We had a bone-in- rib eye and Salciche's which was perfect and a minute steak - but it was too dry. Pasta's are great - local tastes, fresh - lovely! Cheap, tasty and local.Beware - they open between 12:00 - 14:30. Even if you still sit there, they close the kitchen...

Quick lunch while driving from Rome to Milan. I stopped with my family. We had traditional bruschetta, pappardelle al cinghiale and others starters and pasta. But the real surprise was a wonderful grill. I had a delicious steak. Good wine and good price. We will return for sure again.

Old tasting restaurant in the heart of Piegaro, historical indoors and with space outside, in front of the piazza. We offer a large variety of typical dishes of our tradition and the best local wine.
We ate here several times during our week in Piegaro... and enjoyed every meal. The pastas were very good, the pizza as well. The staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming â you feel like part of the family. We would highly recommend Vitalogy to Piegaro visitors.

Typical local, home-made pasta, truffle Frsco, porcini mushrooms, wild boar, hare, snails, steak Chianina IGP, Saffron, Ostrich, Fish, Pizza for lunch.
Pizzas are delicious, very thin, crispy and big and a fantastic bargain. We have taken their pizzas to go back to the villa we are staying in and it is an economical and super yummy lunch. We have been in many spots in Italy over the past two weeks and this pizza is definitely up there in terms of quality and deliciousness. Very nice owner/staff as well. They are open for lunch and then close for awhile in the afternoon until dinner time. Highly recommended.Grazie grazie grazie, tornate presto, vi aspettiamo alla Taverna del Perugino

I was very eager to take my friends to Bruno's as well as not having been back myself for a few years. Located on a central street of Citta' della Pieve, it offers a lovely decor and ambiance (upstairs and downstairs dining rooms), very very good service and excellent Umbrian and Tuscan dishes. The service is excellent and staff very nice and helpful. The locale was completely restructured a few years ago with great taste and also keeping the original frescos on the ceilings in the upper rooms of what was originally a medieval house.
