Classic deli-style eatery for food to-go or to eat there. Great pulled pork, mesquite smoked flavor. Barbequed in big cookers in the front of the building. Ribs looked good and tri-tip also on the menu. Informal seating outside when weather is nice or small section behind the food counters. Side dishes in the refrigerated case were tasty too. Carrot cake and deviled eggs done just right. Always busy, closes early. Great place to stop before or after shopping at the Outlet Mall.

I ordered the burnt ends and the blue cheese crinkle cut fries. The burnt ends were somewhat dry, and half were too tough to chew down. I was expecting something more tender. The fries were better, though we came for the BBQ. They don't seem to get much traffic at this end of town location - a problem with establishments in the Theater District. I'm not sure if we would go back - like Brewsters BBQ better.

What a Chicken is a very popular place to eat for local workers at lunchtime during the week and for families on Sundays. Parking space is unfortunately limited. Amusingly, this restaurant is right across the street from KFC! The food is cooked on an outside grill in front of the restaurant and it smells wonderful! The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. If thereâs a line for food, it moves quickly. The juicy, tender and FLAVORFUL chicken is absolutely delicious! My personal favorites are the chicken tacos but the two or four piece chicken plate with sides is also outstanding. The pork ribs are very good but we prefer the chicken. The homemade tortillas add to the enjoyment of eating here together with the free chips and an excellent salsa bar. Writing this review makes me feel hungry! We have definitely become regular customers for this wonderful small restaurant!
