I can really not understand the positive reviews. I ordered a primo and secondo with gamba. After a while it became clear that they did not have gamba. A bit strange in high season, but fine... I ordered something else. The risotto with saffran was so much, that i could literally feed 6 adults easily. No joke! To me the amount is just not inviting and not italian. The taste of the risotto was fine, i just left 90 percent of the dish, since i ordered a secondo. Now, what they served me after, was just ridiculous. I have no clue what to call this dish and would be ashamed if i were the chef that made it. It was a big pile of iceberg salad with corn. On top of it were some slices of crab (??? probably...not even sure). Next to it laid 4 pieces of cold deepfried fish, that looked like (in Dutch fashion) potato croquette (I had one bite: DISGUSTING) that laid, two by two, in huge pools of cheap cocktail sauce. I ate the lettuce, just to make sure i ate something. This was the WORST food i ever had in Italy and possibly worst food ever. So glad it is over!! I will NEVER go back there and will tell people who enjoy food and dining to stay far away from here

What a find this was! Its on the rooftop of the Hotel Antoinetta just off the main square in this lovely town. Not to be confused with the restaurant downstairs (which is pretty good too!). I would strongly recommend booking, not because its busy, but just so the widest range of fresh seafood and meat is there for you to choose from. There's no real menu as such but you are greeted by the owner/chef who will talk you through what he has available as its all seasonal and local. The choice will range from the catch of the day brought up from the harbour to some really top quality perfectly aged steak. Whilst your choice of fish (sea bass, bream and several local fish we hadn't come across before) or meat is being cooked before your eyes on the grill you are treated to a superb range of antipasti. These aren't huge amounts, but enough to whet the appetite and leave room for that freshly grilled main course which comes with a delicious selection of grilled vegetables. There's a decent enough wine selection which is pretty much all typical of the local Campania region from the same producer. Presentation of the food is wonderful and the taste does not disappoint. We had to revisit a few nights later it was so good. The price is reasonable too when compared to the other two main restaurants just across the square. All this is done by the chef/owner who is passionate about his food. His English was better than our Italian and he was delighted to explain the origins of his food. Nothing was too much trouble for him and everything is done with a beaming smile. This great night out was rounded off by a local digestif on the house. I hope to go back to this region soon and this place will be high on my list of places to go back to.

We had lunch here during our visit to the lovely Acciaroli village. The place is minimal with focus on food to go but they also serve the few tables outside. The choice is quite large. My wife opted for grilled veal while I devoured most of the available vegetables. The ortolana and the zucchini scapece were delicious as also the alici maruzzella. The service was quick and very friendly. The price was a bargain considering the top quality of the food. Do not miss it!

Il Lamione da Dorotea è un ristorante che propone cucina italiana e mediterranea e una steakhouse con alcuni tra i più rinomati tagli del mondo. Disponibili pizze a lunga lievitazione, proposte per vegetariani, celiaci, vegani.
What can I say. My family and I had an amazing dining experience at Lamione the other night which has compelled me to write this review (which I never do). Upon arrival we were very pleased with the location and beautiful building that looks to have been restored to it's former glory. The night was warm and we sat outside in the comfortable, clean and beautifully lit garden area. Menu selection was exceptional with a number of locally inspired dishes as well as an extensive selection of grilled meats. We ordered an antipasti share plate (salumi, cheeses and mozzarella etc) and fried zucchini flowers; both of which were generous and delicious. Both my young children ordered a pizza each and the pizzaolo went out of his way to make them into the shape of a teddy bear - they loved the pizzas! After the antipasti and pizzas, arrived the perfectly cooked, tender and delicious tagliere of meat from the char grill which was topped with rocket - phenomenal. Before the tagliere arrived, we were already almost full. However thankfully we persevered and got through it. I couldn't let that meat go to waste. Before leaving, I also managed to cheekily pop my head into the kitchen; I was happy to find it to be spotless and of high quality. To sum up iâd say that Lamione is an elegant and well thought out restaurant that is backed up by exquisite food - it is definitely one of the best food experiences I have had in Agropoli, let alone Italy. Will definitley be going back before I leave Agropoli to try some other dishes.

The name of the restaurant means in dialect âThe Tool Shedâ. Itâs an interesting intimate place made up of different seating areas inside, each with its own ambience; and for the summer months Carmine, the gregarious owner, opens a fabulous garden dining area.Between himself, his lovely wife Giovanna and his Mother who works the kitchen, they manage a successful restaurant that prides itself on Cilentan dishes, cooked using the freshest local produce. I dined there recently and had the freshest sea bream that I have tasted in a long time. My antipasto of fresh marinated octopus salad was delicious and beautifully presented. To complete the meal Giovannaâs homemade torta caprese has to be tasted to be believed. They also boast a great wine list. The restaurant team is friendly and attentive and unlike other restaurants in the area remains open throughout the winter months. This summer they have opened a pizzeria too, serving a varied selection of pizzas, to keep up with their high overall standards. They often have live music at the weekends.Restaurant UâMazzeno is definitely worth a visit if you are in Cilento. During the summer, booking on Friday and Saturday nights would be advisable.
