Like several other reviewers, stumbled upon Bandanas while staying at hotel next door due to a cancelled flight. Service prompt and friendly. Decided upon the pork and beef combo and they were both equally excellent. The selection of sauces available included something for everyone. Manager stopped by to check on things. For dessert, the in house baked cherry pie was served warm and al amode; it was a delicious ending to the most memorable meal I had in four weeks of travel. If I ever return to the Saint Louis area, I will definitely return to Bandanas,.

The reviews got us in the door, the great food and speedy service have us wanting to return! Deviled eggs with bacon and toasted ravioli were a hit. St Louis ribs were tasty and the mac n cheese worth every calorie! Easily a shareable meal when you pair it with appetizers. Definitely a hotspot in the University area however the clientele was a mixture of everyone! Students, families, couples, you name it. Parking is limited.
After reading the reviews for this place, I thought, "Why not?" The outward appearance of the restaurant was certainly consistent with the quality of the inside food and service. There wasn't anything from my experience there to support a rating above poor. There were no other patrons. It was lunch time. The food was stacked under heat lamps leaving you wondering how old and how long it had been heated or reheated. The meat (rib tips) were tough and coated in bbq sauce so powerful it crowded out any hope to taste the beef. The mac-n-cheese was nothing above bland. The green beans were blahhh. My bill for lunch was just under $11.00 with water. The parking lot was filled with cars and trucks that looked like they were waiting for repair at a garage next door. Save your time and money...eat elsewhere for a specialty cuisine.

St Louis has a lot of BarbCue options. This one is a solid choice. If nothing else just go because itâs locally owned and the service is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rib tips are great. The black eye peas and cornbread are better. The coleslaw is just how I liked it. The brisket was good. Next visit I will try that pork steak. The restaurant is in an unassuming little strip mall and looks tiny from the street. But it has a nice big seating area. I say give it a try.
