Last night we stopped in at Ethyl's for a quick bite to eat. The menu board near the front door focused on their "Taco Tuesday" selections, and they did not sound half bad: BBQ smoked pork taco, BBQ smoked chicken taco, BBQ smoked brisket taco, etc. Pricing was good, too: $3.49 for a single taco and $6.49 for two tacos. NOTE: The tacos do arrive with a side of really great tortilla chips, so need to purchase a separate side! While tacos were not what I planned on having, they were pretty impressive. Big homemade flour tortillas, a big portion of protein, plenty of accompanying sauce and veggies, all resulting in loads of flavor. (We even remarked how they were a TON better than a taqueria we visited a few weeks back!)Service was a little lax but the experience was good enough that I actually may go back when I am in the area (and I live no where near there)...

Placed a to-go-order. Once we got home we noticed that a salad was missing. We called Bandana's to let them know and not wanting anything in return. Just a heads up that something was missed. The manager on duty was very sorry for the problem and was willing to have a salad sent to our house. We declined, he then said that at least could he drop off a gift card for their error. We didn't want them to go out of their way for just a gift card. We about 5 miles away from Bandana's on the other side of town. He insisted and would drop it off. OUTSTANDING customer service.

Nothing great about this restaurant. With so many great restaurants in the immediate area, Applebees needs to step up the food as well as the service. We were there during Happy Hour and there were not enough servers to deal with the amount of customers. The food was overly seasoned - who puts pepper on french fries? I had to wipe each one off with a napkin before it was edible. Chicken tenders were overcooked and tough. Onion rings were overcooked and dark brown. Service was so slow...waited 10-15 min after finishing our meal to receive our check and another 15-20 min for the server to pick it up. Finally had to track down a manager and ask him to get our check.

Considering myself a Q expert from the days I prepped the meats for my daddy's grandstanding Que in Little Alton to my circuit tasting tell this day. I can say hands down these folks have the best barbeque I've eaten, sorry dad, and I wish I could get some stock options in their business as I can see it becoming huge. After seeing them on ShowMe St. Louis I had to taste what put all other Que to shame. I ordered pork steaks with sauce and ribs without...both fall off the bones tender!!!Very personable attentive staffing as well! As greets you as you enter and @ the pickup window during peak hours of business...
