We stayed at the Tyrol Hotel for one night and decided to give Marions a try. The hosting was great! The asparagus soup was amazing and with Many's (Manfred) magical touch, the beef fillet was absolutely amazing and extremely tasty. Thnak you Many!! The tiramisù desert was fabulous! A keeper!

We stopped at Mini Bar Pitt for lunch. We were served an incredibly large and delicious portion of lamb chops fresh off the grill. The side vegetables were cooked perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant. The outside space is delightful and relaxing.

Ate at the Hennenstall with a group. We all enjoyed it. They specialize in grilled meats, so come hungry. They cook everything on an indoor fire inside the restaurant. There are a few pasta and pizza choices on the menu, but I would not go there. We shared mixed salads and grilled vegetables (excellent), then everyone chose their own meat dish. The grilled venison was especially good -- very tasty and not as gamey as most venison so that I have eaten.

We have seriously struggled to find a good pizza in the area. In the last day we have come across this little gem that is well hidden and it is outside of town. The place is really nice and cosy with open fire, the service is really nice and very helpful and the pizza is second to none. The proprietor was there to give us a very nice and warm welcome. You can tell the chef is a proud man and every pizza was a masterpiece! Symphony of flavours, well cooked and well presented. The place is opened from 11-22 o'clock, which is highly welcomed as many places close during the day and you may struggle to find something that is opened. The place is set in beautiful setting between Latemar and Rosegarten, and it is the first place when you turn into Nigerstrasse, to drive the Nigerpass. The prices are reasonable too. The pizzas are circa 15 inches wide and most of them cost 7-8 euros. The Tiramisu was also the best I have eaten and this is ever not just in the area. This is the best place to eat, and if you are in the area then pop in, you will not be dissapointed.

We came here on our "day off" from doing more extreme stuff in the area. As it's only 1km away from the villages, we expected Malga Aloch to be rather tame in comparison to the more distant establishments. However we ended up staying for much of the afternoon, mostly because of the apple strudel demonstration at 4pm. Service a little slow, but then again we weren't in a hurry. For luch we ate on the large wooden terrace overlooking Vigo di Fassa. Food was good - I had a polenta and mushroom combination followed by a local yougurt with nuts and honey. This was clearly a popular place for families and for people wanting a shorter walk than many offered in the area.
