I had already been a big fan of Chef Wendell from his previous restaurant, Pardes, in Brooklyn, so when I heard that he opened up a barbecue place I was very excited! Barbecue has been an up-and-coming category of restaurant and has only recently started seeing good kosher options. My wife and I went on a Monday night and we're delighted to discover that they had started doing an all you can eat menu on Monday night. Using this format we were able to sample almost everything on the menu, and were delighted with the results! The barbecue itself is tender and delicious, the meats well smoked and seasoned. Most of the options were dry rubbed, but the wet barbecue, and most importantly the pulled beef was soft and succulent as well. What I think was most unique about beast barbecue was the attention to detail on the non-meat things. The coleslaw, potato salad, the homemade breads were all out of this world. I wife and I each tried a signature cocktail, and while the mint julep was good, it was relatively standard. The Nutty Flapjacks was creative and really good. We left the restaurant stuffed, and looking forward to coming back!

Don't see Portuguese restaurant very often and this one is very authentic. It is located in a tiny plaza and not easy to find even with the help of GPS. The steak and BBQ grilled by open fire are delicious. The price is reasonable for a steakhouse with a good portion.A good find in Spring Valley for sure and we will return given a chance.

Best BBQ in Tri-State area period. I travel 80k miles a year, I eat BBQ all over the South and Texas. I can never find decent BBQ in NY and or NJ. Well, if you like BBQ, then you will love this place. The St Louis Ribs were cooked to perfection, with just enough pull on the bone. The Brisket was was fabulous tender and tasty. I recommend the Mac and Cheese as well, all delicious. Combine this with then 5 or 6 different BBQ sauces and you are in heaven, I like the Lexington sauce the best. The Fried Pickles were good, although a little to thick on the cut. I am used to thinner slices. Service was friendly, owner very personable. A little tight with the seating, as they are bench communal style. The bar selection of brown liquor looks great, I will partake on the next visit. Go

A terrific selection of BBQ meats, including pork, beef, and chicken. Also shrimp, turkey, and a whole slew of vegetables and great side dishes. The portions are large, the selection includes platters, sandwiches, and a bunch of salads (with meat of course!). One nice aspect is that you can order just a meat dish, and yes/no as to sides. Parking is tight, but doable. There are daily specials, including a Monday all you can eat buffet.
