We dined at Al Cavallino Bianco twice on quiet nights while visiting friends in Friuli, and would recommend it. (We do not know the situation on a busy night.) Anna, a member of the family who run the business, served us. She was very friendly, cooperative, efficient, attractive, and spoke English and German as well as Italian. The dining room was pleasantly appointed in a rustic style with an open fireplace in the far corner. The menu included local Friulian dishes which we found tasty and reasonably priced.Our friends were interested in looking at the accommodation for future visitors. The rooms we saw were crisp, clean, well-maintained and, we thought, moderately priced considering that the tariff included breakfast with freshly cooked items upon request. If you intend staying, you might want to ask for a room away from the Ara Grande church bell tower, which is right next to the building.The Al Cavallino Bianco website (http://www.alcavallinobianco.com/default.asp)is unusually well-designed, accurate, comprehensive and worth looking at for detailed information about the entire establishment. It reveals that the family take pride in their business. Also, we found the Google street view helpful in seeing its exact location.

This is a strictly steak restaurant. Usually around 8 steaks to choose from, coming from all europe and the USA. Their choice of steaks reflect the area they come from, whether it be Scotland, Spain, Lithuania or America, So even though it's all beef they each have their subtle differences, cooked to your liking. The outside patio has an excellent view. House wine and beer are very good. Of course, they serve Prosciutto from San Daniele. A favourite for meat eaters. Western themed locale with horse stables.

Il locale si ubica in centro.Possibilità di parking a pochi passi dal ristorante.Nella bella stagione si può optare per un accomodamento all'esterno.La sala interna è corredata da una meravigliosa griglia a vista. Accoglienza molto cortese.Servizio di sala accorto e disponibile, sempre sorridente.Apparecchiamento adeguato al loco.Hotellerie dedicata ad ogni portata.Ottimo il prosciutto crudo : veramente delizioso.Squisito il risotto agli asparagi.Buonissima l'offerta di tagliolini al San Daniele.Cestino del pane fragrante e vario.Gustoso il vino della casa.Noi abbiamo ripetuto la nostra prima e soddisfacente esperienza.Conto onesto.Consigliatissimo.

Booked two weeks before. After the first plate, the staff tells us that there was no longer meat. When we ask for a plate of the famous Prosciutto for six, they literally yell at us "NO we can only serve a menu for 2". The last sad notes... the food was not good: Too salty and I guess just not a good quality for the price (very expensive). The owner was walking in the room all the time, but he didn't consider us... I think this was maybe the most disappointing lunch/dinner we had in this weeks...

We had a good dinner; generous portion size. The service was kind of slow even though we were early and the place was not too busy yet. I would still go back for the food and hope for prompter service.

If you have never heard of the famous Chianina beef then you had better look it up before going to this restaurant. They prepare it exactly as perscribed by the Chianina association. The "T-bone" is cut approximately 2 inches thick and the steak is then sliced up and served individually. They leave the bone so you can gnaw on it later. The meat is flawless, so tender you can cut it with a fork. The only condiment you may need is some olive oil drizzled on top. A reservation has to be made 24 hrs ahead to prepare the meal. A full meal is offered, all based on this prized meat, the tartar is especially good. The owner can a be a little snooty, but it's worth it.

We really didn't expect the size of the dishes... We ordered a starter, one soup and a order of ribs and we couldn't finish it all! And we're 2 adult men...The foccacia with prosciutto and mozzarella was amazing and was basically a prosciutto pizza (also in size), the soup was OK and the ribs we're very good! The fries that came with the fries were also very nice and unique.We had the small tiramisu for dessert and it was also perfect.Service was overall OK, could be a bit better.We had a very nice dinner and would highly recommend it, especially for carnivores. The environment is beautiful, the service is awesome. We took prosciutto seasoned 24 months and 36. The last one was pretty good but I'm sure in San Daniele I can find a better one. Burrata was amazing but focaccia was Average. What disappointed the most was the main course. I took pasta with prosciutto crudo and my wife with trout. They were with full of cream and you couldn't enjoy the real flavour. Imho it is unacceptable in Italy in 2016 to put cream inside pasta. It was really hard to finish the plate because its heaviness. I gave 3 stars but the real vote is 3.5.

Dear Monica in front of house and her brother Federico are following in the footsteps of their parents. Bring your best possible appetite for the most spectacular florentine steaks- this side of florence ! Vegetarian- no problem, and great fish on request. To say my wife and I love this place is an understatement in life.
