The true culinary tradition of Lecce is to be found at Cosimino's Osteria*. Just a few hundred meters from the Old Town, in a new and welcoming atmosphere, Cosimino's sons Luigi and Gianfranco have been the heirs to this culture, handed down to them since
I've been here a few times now at lunchtime for a casual 'aperitivo'. We usually get a selection of nibbles including bruschetta, mozzarelline and fried meatballs. The bruschetta is quite tasty and simple. I personally find the meatballs etc much too heavy, but their flavours are fine. The house wine isn't great but there are plenty others to choose from. On each visit we've been the only customers, or one table of only a few. The staff can leave you feeling that you've been forgotten about...we had to go searching for them a few times. And like others, I agree that the TV is a disturbance more than anything else...especially when the waiter is glued to it while serving the wine! I'll return, but there are some small things that could make a world of difference to this place!

We were ready for some serious meat and happily we found this restaurant. We loved the concept of choosing your own meat from the butcher case. Wish we had such a restaurant at home. The carrot sticks, cucumbers and olives on the table were very nice. Good salad and wine as well. A very inexpensive meal compared to others we had, and very satisfying. We sat outside. It was also nice to venture a little out of the old city and see a little of the local life. An easy walk from the old center. We heard that this concept had originated in Cisternino, but were not able to find one there as pleasant as this one, although it was lunchtime there and several were closed.

What a great Pub in the old city of Lecce, wonderfully laid out with a great selection of beers. Snacks available and are very good along with a huge amount of peanuts. Staff are very friendly and at tentative worth a visit,

Had a lovely, relaxed evening with Italian friends dining outside at this tasty restaurant. Ordered our sides and drinks then went in and chose our meat to be freshly cooked. Lots of choice and a really friendly atmosphere. When the bill came we saw what good value for money it was too! Recommended for all carnivores!

Braceria, trattoria and pizzeria. Three proposals menu for different but equally demanding palates. The refreshment of the Templars and a well-known restaurant in the heart of Lecce, now under new management. Specialties of local cuisine with ingredients
We wondered past this place during the day whilst visiting the museo faggiano and thought it looked nice. It turned out to be more than nice. The service and food were both fantastico! I particularly enjoyed my bombette. We somehow managed to fit dessert in too. So glad we did, this was also excellent. If you want to try typical southern Italian food, this is a great place to do so

This is a lovely restaurant, with delicious Pugliese food. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful, I ate here several times, both alone and with others. White tablecloths make it a bit more special. My eggplant parmegiana was so amazing, wish I was back here right now.

Nice range of beers in busy bar. However, the food was pretty abysmal. Microwaved burger melted in gooey mess served in cardboard container. No pickles nothing couldn't even open the bun as it was all glued together. Even though menu states all freshly made - what a joke!

Ate here recently. We were seated outside because indoors was fully reserved on a Tuesday night. The male waiter was not the friendliest. Our starters of 3 cheeses and selection of meats were excellent with ample portions. My main of sliced sbeef with grated cheese and leaves was very good but the sliced beef with chips and tomato was not so good as the beef was fatty but tender. I had pannacotta with wild berry sauce which was excellent and served by an older waitress with a smile -what a difference a smile makes. They charge â¬1.60 per person for couvert which consisted of a few olives and a few small biscuits not worth the price. So good in parts but with a more cheerful service and some better quality of beef could be very good. Gabriella.

Rather intimidating amount of staff meet you, but they were very friendly and helpful. Meat and fish is charged per kilo, slightly confusing menu, which needed explaining. Exceptionally good steak on a hot slate, papaer thin veal wrapped around pine nuts, raisins and cheese delicious. We returned here twice, great desert, and good seating outside. Very nice wine and beer selection.
