Loved the eclectic pink pig decor. Not your typical barbeque restaurant. Service was excellent. They offer a combination of Seafood and barbeque. The chopped pork sandwich was tender and moist. You are given the choice of 6 sauces which are all homemade. Sandwich sides are Al a carte. Included Brunswick stew. All in all, this is a pleasant place to have a great lunch.

I drove past this place en route to Savannah. Something told me to come back and give it a try and I am ecstatic that I did! I initially wanted chicken due to the name but saw ribs and decided on them. They were divine! Fall off the bone! Macaroni was slap your momma good! I will definitely be back!
I've seen some reviews with the correct address and some with the correct name. I, hopefully, can give you the correct address and name. According to the sign, the name of the restaurant is "Chickin Lickin Southern Fried Chicken." My credit card showed the name as "The Hickory House." The street address is 16161 Whyte Hardee Blvd, Hardeeville, SC 29927. It's hard to miss when you're zooming down the highway.Coming from California, I was looking for that one hole-in-the-wall restaurant that would blow me away with southern cooking. Regrettably, Chickin Lickin is not that place. First of all, they were out of fried okra, which I was looking forward to. The fried chicken was nothing special. I thought the service was a tad rude, especially when they shout at you when your order is ready (even though we were the only people in the restaurant). I suppose the value was pretty good. I spent $47.72 for a 16-piece chicken bucket, three large sides (mac and cheese, beans and dirty rice), and 7 drinks (soft drinks and sweet tea). The mac and cheese was tasty and the sweet tea was good, though it was troublesome getting it out of the big jug with the little valve on the bottom. The price I have no complaints about. The restaurant is counter style, which means you walk up to a counter and order then they shout at you when your order is done. It's located off a long, dark highway so this may be your only choice for a while. If that's the case then I guess it's okay. Outside of that, if you're looking for that one southern place to blow your mind, you can probably skip this restaurant.
