This was one of Texas Monthly magazines top BBQ places in Texas, although that's been many years ago for that distinction. The BBQ is actually quite good (try the Lamb ribs...no, really!), but the rub does have too much salt added. The brisket and all other meats are tender with a slight smoky flavor that still lets the meat taste shine through. Also try the sides of cole slaw and potato salad, which they make onsite. The only thing is they keep strange hours. For example, a hand written sign on the door says they are open "8:00 a.m. til close". What does close mean? What time? Anyway, if you're in this town, try it for lunch. Momma always said to avoid any BBQ restaurant with matching chairs...this place doesn't have 'em! (matching that is).
