Me and my family had several dinners at the restaurant during our stay at Casamassella. The restaurant serves very tasty food. The kids loved the pizza. Me and my wife enjoyed the starters and the grilled meat.The house wine was very tasty.The staff were polite and very helpful.

I had read great reviews about that place and I absolutely wanted to go for lunch. Here's a tip if you are driving from Otranto: you have to take the SP87 (Santa Cesaria direction) and you'll find it at kilometer 8. The GPS took us to the wrong place twice, so I had to call the restaurant to get the directions. But it's totally worth the trip!First, the setting is amazing. We sat on the terrace under huge pine trees, with a view of the sea in the background. I took the eggplant raviolis with vegetable sauce. Since they have their own garden, the vegetables and edible flowers on the plate were incredibly fresh, tasty and colourful. My partner had the orecchiettes with polpettas and ricotta. Comfort food at it's best! I does have a drawback you should realy reserve your table since they're full all the time. Anyway great restorant offers wonderful local food from locals. Cheeses,homemade pasta and of course different kind of meat. Well trained personal speak all sorts of launguages - i was realy pleased that we ate there. It's almost a must if you stay in otranto.

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Mentioned over aperitivo in our hotel as an option within walking distance. Fantastic staff who were so welcoming and helpful even though no common language. The food was delicious, a huge Fiorentina steak with potatoes and salad. Also some delicious local street food treats. We tried fagotini, which was ham and cheese in breadcrumbs which was then fried. Also gnommareddi, offal wrapped in stomach lining, which sounds challenging but was delicious as long as you like liver and kidney. The wine was a perfect match, a negromara recommended which was only 15 euros. A completely delicious meal with wine for under 60 euros. As well as great value it was all which served by a warm and helpful waitress and a chef with clear pride in his food. They showed us the meat before cooking and helped to show how to finish the cooking on a hot plate at the table. A local restaurant which welcomed us as tourists and then topped off with a complimentary amaro. I would definite recommend a visit if you are staying in this area. A match for the many new basque style grill places in London but more relaxed and affordable.

I had another great night in L'Allegra Scottona, watching the Manchester Derby live on TV and enjoying the absolutely delicious food and the fine draught beer. It really is a pleasant place to spend an evening and is friendly with a really positive buzz about it!

Our first attempt to eat here failed as they were catering for a wedding. Despite that, the waitress, who spoke pretty good English, was really helpful and told us of other restaurants we could try. So we made a reservation for a couple of days later. Good choice. Beautiful garden and setting. The same waitress then took us through the blackboard menu in English. We shared a delicious antipasti with grilled aubergines and courgettes, doughballs, mini bombettes, ham and cheese. My wife had a macaroni pasta and I had a puréed bean dish smothered with a chicory top. Main course we shared what was effectively a sizeable mixed grill with steak, bombette, sausage and pork and finished with a delicious lemon sorbet. There's a little car park just past the restaurant 1euro per hour if you're there before 9pm - ticket machine on the wall in the street just before the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!!

Went to this very excellent new restaurant in the small town of Minervino di Lecce. You canât go wrong ordering anything on the menu here. Worth the trip if you are staying in Otranto or anywhere near. All the fish we ordered was fresh and cooked just right: the tuna, the snapper, and salted cod. Everything was presented in a very picturesque way and tasted amazing all the way to the deconstructed tiramisu for dessert. Nice ambience and the a/c didnât hurt either. Lots of special touches, donât miss this restaurant. Bon Appetito!
